EPTI decided to do a Cookout at my house instead of the usual kbbq. Took quite a bit of prep work, several hours pealing shrimp, cutting the meat, and prepping the seasonings. It was a lot of fun regardless though, making kebabs and wrapping them in tin foil always turns out great. The tin foil helps to create a better cooking environment, giving it an even temperature all around, and trapping the juices. Using a combination of mushrooms red peppers and onions to help accentuate the kebabs. Overall I think they turned out great.
Now, I like grilling, but i also love cooking on wood coals. And to get wood coals you need a fire. I Had a staging area, for burning the wood, and a grill to shovel coals in to then cook the kebabs.
(I Also decided to try cook a chicken using a hanging spit contraption. Sadly this did not cook the chicken, because i kept placing kebabs in between the chicken and the coals. Next time if i attempt this I'll have to have the chicken cooking over its own area, or cooking it in a tin can. ) I started the fire around 4, using a flint and magnesium stick. Personally I find more satisfaction in using alternative methods to start a fire, than the commonly used match or lighter, and the occasionally used lighter fluid. After about an hour or two of burning I was able to start the cooking of kebabs.
Now besides the chit chat of how Terran is imba, we had started to play mafia ^_^. The biggest group we had going was 17 people, which was pretty good. Though as a lot of new games going, with lack of experienced players, its very easy for town to go for bad lynches and get lead on by mafia. The last game, was the best game. The game had gotten down to Luckyfool, d3_crescentia, and a newer guy from my csl team Andrew. The ending wasn't quite as epic as some others, but it was up to the new guy, to lynch Luckyfool or d3_crescentia, and he made the right call. Town one its first and only game, 1-4 not to bad haha. (I'm sure someone else can tell the story better, but im tired.
The evening winded down to quite a bit of chatting, until everyone went home. Overall everything went great, and i hope everyone had a great time. I think I'll try and throw together another one in the future. I got a group picture of some of the guys so here you go.
