You're probably right. This is a Pro-Am, where masters players can come try their skills against real Pros.

Hm this is interesting, so many [good] progamers join this, but not many join other cups like Playhem? Yes it's on a different server and all and there's lag, but does the delay really make it thaaat hard? I'm sure a player like Ganzi or Ryung should be able to play fine. When they ladder on Cella's account vs GM/high master they win like 95% of all games.
|
Yeah it is very interesting Yoshi, you would think they would enter as many online cups as they could... but they dont. I personally play on all 3 servers--US, EU, and TW -- and they are all very playable. For some reason most pro players just do not like to play cross-server. I guess this may be perhaps because at high levels you can't perform complex micro with high latency. Or they dont want to mess up their acute mental timings.
Polt is actually known for staying up late and playing in EU tourneys O_Ov he's not scared
|
Personally I am excited for this, a weekly cup every thursday at 9 pm (for me) on the korean server? Sounds fun ^_^. I don't get latency there so it'll be awesome and hopefully I can play some korean pro's :D

Heheh, Polt fighting :D
Yeah it could be the annoyingness of not being able to play "correctly" (as best as they can basically), but when they ladder on NA through cella's account they win almost every single game, Playhem tournaments usually don't even have that many progamers, usually a few generally low leveled korean progamers, and a few foreigners or semi-pros (like GM).
Or actually maybe it's just the time, not wanting to change their sleep schedule and etc.
|
Yeah, there's a variety of factors. Even economics. A lot of progamers are young and don't even have their own computer, let alone an extra $50 to buy another SC2. But I digress.
It appears as though the entirety of Team ZENEX has joined the tournament en masse. :D We now have Mentalist, Next, Harrier, Avenge and Byun participating. Also a pro SEA team has signed up their players, Team Spider... with the likes of Kong, Swim, Garion, Fly, and their coach DuS
The competition is getting stiff, sign up today !! www.Honor-Cup.com

We now have 73 players signed up. What are you waiting for?

I just noticed that MKP is on the player list but not mentioned here yet. $100 coming his way... though the tournament is so stacked some other Korean might be able to take him out.
Also, Wayi Spider is a pro team in Taiwan, which I wouldn't really count as a SEA team.

MKP will be at Spring Arena during this, so I can't see how he's going to play.
|
This is happening in 4-5 hours, and Spring Arena is in about 24 hours. Is that too close together? Or is it that he is on a plane right now?
|
hey PeterDLai that MKP player that signed up is not the real MarineKingPrime... he is only a Diamond in Korea. That's why I didn't have MarineKing listed as a player
