but understand that actively pursuing passions and social gatherings and bettering yourself in all ways be it physical or emotional...will make your life more awesome. and you will be more satisfied by your life. the choice is yours yo. it's not "wrong" to do nothing about the problems you mentioned. if that's want you want, it's fine.

You seem to suggest that you feel like you should do something because of what you see around you, but from another perspective you have concrete standards in life that you have no achieved. I assume you want a car, a girlfriend, and a future. You understand that you don't want to live off of minimum wage, and that's a start. Sometimes people do things just to subsist, but are you willing to just settle? I think one of the worst parts about life is regretting the past, and a lot of people have to live with the actions they took in their youth for the rest of their lives when they would trade anything to try again. You're at this interesting age where nothing matters, yet everything matters. What you decide to do today and each action you do today will be a hundred times more effective in changing the whole outcome of your life than say in ten more years. Even if you have the option to do whatever you want right now, you also have to realize (and I believe you do realize) that it can't last forever, and sometimes life is for a lack of a better phrase smoothing happiness consumption for rainy future days. There's a lot of people in the US who can get 4.0s and great test scores and have sick cars and gfs when they're 17, but in all honesty most 17 year olds are about the same. Let me tell you from firsthand experience that just because you're smart and you're in the Ivy League or w/e doesn't mean you know what you want to do with your life, and even if they think they do most of the time they don't. In fact, your bachelors degree doesn't mean shit after a few years in the workforce anyways, and there are plenty of dumbasses in the Ivy League who just waste their lives. If you worked hard, you have a solid shot of being better off in the future than almost anyone you see that is at your age right now, but in 20 years you basically have no shot. I think the most important thing in your life is to do what you love and live happily, but it is honestly hard for anyone to accomplish. Just ask yourself what exactly it is you want in the rest of your life and even if you don't know ask yourself if what you see in your current path is what you want. If it is then go on ahead, but know that whatever you choose you have to live with that forever. Ghandi said be the change you want to see in the world, and building upon his wisdom, I think it's fair to say that you should be the change you want to see in yourself. If there's anything you want then go for it, and if theres anything you're searching for then find it, because at your age no one can stop you.

My ideal day is waking up, playing SC2 and messing around on the internet and then going to bed. That's it. That's all I want. But at the same time, I think I SHOULD be trying to better myself in some way. Totally feel the same. But then I have wants too. Like a girlfriend. And good friends to hang out with often. And once I have that I want to be famous.
