The only way you're going to get people to stop saying it is by forcing them to do it, and I personally was under the impression that Fascism ended in 1945.
Words themselves don't have power. It's not like the more something is used, the more powerful it becomes. In fact I'd say it's quite opposite.
The fact that my friends (the dark ones) have pretty much come to ignore whenever someone drops the n bomb suggests to me that its overuse has rendered it uninteresting and not really noteworthy anymore.
Of course it's always fun to get a rise out people to act like you are really furious.
In any case the only real power words have come with the intent behind it. If you see somebody that can be discriminated in ANY way there will be a word that will categorize them so that when you call them that word, hopefully they will feel singled-out, discriminated or hurt.
So in my opinion, there are no bad words. The only bad words are the ones that are too broad and easily misinterpreted, like communist or terrorist which are made-up to categorize something then widely used in improper manner

It would be a double standard if white people could say both words and blacks could not, that would be a double standard. It is a double standard, you're delusional. If the N word is so offensive that it brings up negative emotions about slavery etc. then why would black people use it among themselves? I'm not a slave owner, I'm not an advocate of slavery, so what difference should it make?

I fully understand the "N" word is a terrible thing to say, especially as a figure of the SC2 Community, but I've just got to ask why he is getting in so much trouble and people having zero tolerance for it when one of the frontmen of EG, EGidra has been known to BM quite a lot. He may not use the N word but has said several inappropriate things not only when streaming, but also at major tournaments. I feel like the decision here was out of hand and that if we are to hold orb to this kind of standard, why are other big names getting away with it. I am not saying this to talk trash on Idra, just merely stating the fact that he is vulgar in games and has been far more than I have seen orb and has never been riticuled and was not released for any of it.

IdrA has not said anything near as bad as orb did and when he does say something almost kinda somewhat close as bad as what orb saids he gets a personal lecture from Alex and has since stopped if he had continued he would ahve been let go
IdrA never said anything undeserving of second chances, Orb did

he did stop, yes. but telling us "faggot" and "retard" is somehow less worse than "nigger" is highly arbitrary. all are equally bad. matter of fact is EG can and should be more inclined to drop a new affiliation than a high profile player who they already heavily invested in. pecking order and ROI are only natural considerations when it comes to damage control. everything else than dropping orb would have been a terrible business decision.

The black people that are doing that are a part of the problem as well and not helping the situation. It's not nearly as offensive because it insults THEM. Also when black people say cracker.... not really that offensive my ancestors exploited yours and got really rich? doesnt sound like an insult to me THEY went through the pain so they have more of a right to address then we do.

doubt idra cared about orb's comment, he should say something about this
but then again idra probably hates orb lol, I remember back in the beta days of the HDH they were set to have a match together and had some prematch beef

to clarify and to be fair, ive never heard a black person say the word "nigger". a black guy saying "what up my nigger" or "dats my nigger" would be pretty silly. black ppl say "nigga" which is, beleive it or not, a different word from "nigger".
BUT, they derive and originate from the same word. its kinda complicated, but neither word should be said because only a black guy can say "nigga" and a white guy cant unless that white guy is more black then white. thats how it works here anyway, cant vouch for the more northern states. its pretty lol and stupid imo.

I know this is a bit late but man, seeing the edit where you continue to insist that it wasn't you in the first image just completely kills your apology. Its a slap in the face to the community, some of whom are still your fans after all this. We can tell and know it was you, are you seriously still going to stick with that story? You're an embarrassment as a prominent member of the community when you blindly cling to the lie that helped get you in this mess.
Your insincere apology and continued inability to admit to your obvious guilt is pathetic. It won't hurt your image at all (probably will improve it), so why don't you just grow up and own up already?

I feel like Orb actually did very little wrong. The fact that what he did a year ago, before he had even interacted with EG is ridiculous. While the word itself is horrible, this sort of thing happens to absolutely everyone at one point or another, and it's just not fair that something from so far back should come back to bite anyone like this.

No, it does not. Sorry.

Where can I see the VOD where it all happens?
