Decided to make a new entry, it feels more fresh anyways.
Finally finished my highlight film. I rearranged some of the clips to create a more impressive final product. Also added highlighted circle around me on every play . Doesn't look professionally made, but i believe it's good enough to not merit wasting 60$ on some company to do it. Took my beta version down, just to minimize possible confusion. I'll be uploading the official no music version tomorrow.
So far, i've only received a letter of interest from Middlebury College. Hopefully with my tape finally done, i can now start contacting other schools i'm interested in playing at. Will be visiting Cornell, Amherst, Williams and Middlebury over spring break, hopefully the visits produce good results on both the academic and athletic fronts.
As i state in my previous blog (found here http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?id=309204), don't expect Julius Peppers 2.0, i'm saving that for next season
Official version:
Music used:
Kajmir Beats - Obliteration Tantu Beats - King of LA
Both can be found on youtube. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and watch! I'll be updating this blog from now on, not creating new ones.

Your tackling looks pretty solid, so few football players now a days actually wrap up when they hit, frustrates the hell out of me. If you don't make it with football, you should consider switches to rugby! Cheers

I watched it before and after the edit, and its so much better with the spotlight effect to point out who you are. Good work man.
|
Very good bud I was a Offensive guard and a Defensive Tackle so you just made us linemen proud :D ALSO was Lineman of the year... JUST SAYING haha gj on the vid and keep playing.
|
Thanks to all three of you! It's so nice being part of a somewhat mature community. I feel your pain balgrog, my tackling just needs to be lower.
Thanks pawsom, i really appreciate it And seize, you must understand how hard it is to hardly ever get positive recognition (we only get called out if we miss our blocks and stuff haha)! Congrats on your award also :D

Much better now that you point yourself out for each clip. I don't remember whether I said as much the first time you posted for a blog, but your defensive clips are quite a bit more solid than your O-line ones, at least in my opinion. Good game sense regardless though.
I wish you luck in your submissions!
And as a question, was the letter of interest received in regards to football or academics?

oh fuck, i came here to see epic football....but its only "american football"...you know "soccer" (that shitty word some idiots made up) is called football almost everywhere else in the world ^^

I tend to agree with you, i feel like i had a much better season defensively (even though i only started the last 6 games or so on D). The letter was for football, i'm guessing because i had attended a Middlebury interest visit at my school (in maryland).
Thanks for the opinion.
edit: sorry gwi, i knew there would be football fans who were going to expect a different sport. Apologies!

If you plan on sending the tape to coach's try to cut it down to maybe 3 min, and show only your best plays as early as you can in the video. These coachs are watching maybe a hundred tapes a day, and you want to stick out and get there attention early. The first two plays you have are great. They show you can run and you hit/tackle well. That is what a coach is looking for. The play where your team recovers the fumble and you wheel back on the play and lay the guy out I'd cut out. Its a great hit, but a coach is going to look at that and all he will see is that you came off the line high out of your stance and got blocked. If the RB holds on the football its just a 15 yard gain against you guys.

Is the music really necessary?

Thanks! I'm very interested in foreign lang/IR/poli sci so middlebury would be up my alley

No, i just find it boring watching muted clips for 5 minutes. You can mute it if it really bothers you

Nice video man. Hit the weight room hard in the offseason, probably need to bulk up a bit if you're looking to play OL, and good luck getting some more interest out there!

He is obviously not going to include the BGM in his application process...

Yea, i have been. Long way to go still, not benching what i'd like to be, relatively weak upper body. I make up some of it squating but still pretty scrawny. I'm hoping to play DE or tight end, or something where i don't have to be a complete fatass. I'm currently weighing upper 190's, looking to be around 205-210 by next season.

Curse my Englishness.
Edit - I mean no offence by this, each to his own. I was just expecting what you guys probablly call soccer.
