For episode 10 of eSports Production Value I interview Carmac!
Bottom line is that at the end of the day and while I have tons of production experience I have not personally done a large eSports production. As such I am not much more than an armchair quarterback. I wanted to sit down and talk with someone who has been there, who has done every possible job in eSports and someone who can pull the proverbial curtain back and tell us what it is like to produce huge international tournaments.
We discuss everything from the challenges of working with international customs to the plan-plan-plan-burn the plan mentality that it really takes to juggle so many events happening just weeks apart in a corners of the earth.
The insights Carmac provides is amazing. If you have ever wondered how large international events are planned, designed and coordinated then please watch this episode. Additionally, if you are one to sharpen a pitchfork because an event shows the tiniest of glitches then please watch this episode!
Last week I threw down the gauntlet and said that I would be building a new set. I also said that I would not spend any more than $35 to build my set. Well, with some creativity and a quick raiding of my hallway closet I was able to build my set for zero dollars! Basically I used my color printer 3 lamps and a 4x4 piece of coroplast. I have some great behind the scenes picks that I'll upload a little later and walk through how I built it.
In the meantime please check out this interview with Carmac. He was amazing to chat with and once again he proves how much knowledge and passion he has for the eSports community. Huge thanks to Carmac for doing the interview and I really hope you enjoy watching.
