Having played quite a bit of MacroMicro back in SC:BW, I was sad to see that there wasn't a remake for SC2, so I decided to make it myself. For those of you who don't know what MacroMicro is, the MacroMicro mod takes the standard SC2 gameplay (supports 1v1, 2v2, 4FFA) and allows two humans to control 1 "player", one player handles everything Macro-oriented (resource gathering, building, etc.) and one player handles everything Micro-oriented (combat, harassment, etc.).
The core gameplay is pretty much complete and there may be a few bugs here and there. The map works similiar to obs mode maps where players can opt-in to play and teams of players are randomly matched (players can pick Macro/Micro partners if you have a friend). The combat units are automatically transfered from the Macro player to the Micro player and there are a number of keyboard hotkeys to help with teamwork such as transfering of units that can be used for both Macro/Micro (scouting workers, transports, etc.), comsat, rallying, pinging idle micro units, and pushing your microers units aside if they are blocking building placement. When the match is over the map resets and another match can be setup. There are a few observer features and more to come in later updates.

Note: Currently all the dev is being done on "MacroMicro on The Shattered Temple" so for the newest features play on that map, also it is the original and more "popular" map.

I would like to input that this is the greatest map I have ever played on and I have spent countless hours micro'ing the heck out of units created just for me!
Bug: In 2v2, if one pair of players surrenders he gets vision of the whole map before the game is over.

Hi thanks for playing.
This is not a bug since I intended it this way. If a pair surrenders they become observers, but I guess they still retain "bragging rights" if their remaining partners in the game pull off a victory.
Edit: I could do it either way depending on player preference: 1. They become observers so they can talk to / see everything and chat with observers 2. They remain teamed with their teammates, no longer have units, but can still talk to / offer advice to their team.

When i played a game as zerg, the larva timings seemed to be off somehow. I couldnt spend money on drones fast enough and ended up with a 13 hatch....

That was a known bug last week, it has since been fixed to my knowledge.

k guys so i never played brood war (but i did play vanilla), and i understand that macro/micro was a staple in UMS in broodwar.
anyways i just wanted to bump this for blackwaltz, and for teh sake of this custom mod!
its awesome. its improved my micro from silver/gold-diamond, and my macro from plat-masters. its definitely worth a look if youre trying to improve 1 or the otehr aspect of ur play!
also blackwaltz might be making a new macro/micro custom for cloud kingdom (or terminus). im sure ppl will want to practice on CK for teh upcoming season nd what better way to break down both sides of teh game than to play it on macro/micro?
plz make this mod popular. its awesome imo!!!

Just posted Cloud Kingdom LE, have fun guys! It'll probably be harder to get a game than on Shattered Temple, so recruit some friends or from the channel "macromicro"

Yeah sucks they removed that mode but I guess you have to cut corners to make billions ^^ Would love to see a 1v1 with 4 top pros on each team. One guy doing perfect macro and 3 players microing units in battles.

i like this map very much.
i have one request though.
i dont mind being matched up with a bronze but when i macro as random (as always), my micro partner replies "i dont know zerg" and ended up sacrificing maxed army without even casting a fungal.
is there way to pick race after partnering up?

Thanks for bringing this up, I have been giving this some thought about whether a separate setup is necessary once teams are picked, but I would prefer if all the options could be captured in one selection process. - Other ideas cycling through my mind is an option to "allow microer to define race" - As a first step, I could add a race tag to each player in the "Wants to Play" list so that players can talk it out and pick races/partners before the match begins.

I'm glad you and your friends are enjoying the map. I am also working on putting 1vA.I. and 2vA.I. modes in so that players can practice Macro/Micro in a more leisurely setting.

I remember the first few games i played in BW. it was these 2 player controls one player maps. Glad to see it brought into SC2, too bad my friends really don't paly it anymore.
