Typically I don't get frustrated or pissed off at anything. I've calmed my temper down quite a bit, and with doing so I've realized that things just aren't worth it. Instead of taking my frustration out on real life individuals which might lead to severe altercations I've decided to post a few here.
Yesterday I spent nearly 8 hours on campus for orientation. I'm a 22 year old college student that just transferred to the second largest university in the United States of America, and man it was hell. It was a frigid 29 degrees when I woke up and my car was covered in ice. Typically I'd take an icescraper and chip the ice off smoothly, but because I live in Florida I had no such thing. After several minutes of fidgeting with my credit cards the ice was removed and I was on my way! The drive was smooth and traffic was minimal. The average hour commute only took 45 minutes and I was well on my way to an awesome orientation...or so I thought
Upon arriving, I realized I had nearly a mile walk in the freezing cold to the main building. Armed with an amazing, well detailed map, I headed toward my destination. *turn off sarcasm* The walk was exactly the opposite. The campus is a giant circle with several inner circles, which eventually lead to a main building. It seems simple enough, but the walk-ways to each inner circle were cris-crossed and disorganized. After 30 minutes of walking, I finally asked for help and I was assisted kindly. It was almost 8 am. I had made it on time. After waiting an hour in a giant auditorium the first speaker came on. I could already tell this day was going to be hell. I'll be honest though, it wasn't that bad except for one female.
After a shorting speaking engagement, the speaker stepped down and we quietly awaited our next presenter. At my table were two parents and presumably their 18 year old daughter. She was your stereotypical just-out-of-high-school female with no manners or sense of direction. I'm cool with that, until she started to bitch. Now this wasn't your stereotypical bitching, it was all out nonsense. From what I gathered the girl was discussing the parking decal that needed to be on her car in order to park on campus. They have two types: a sticker and a hanging decal. The sticker is much cheaper, but the hanging decal can be moved from car to car. Nonetheless, the girl started bickering with her father about getting a hanging decal because she did not want to put a sticker on her brand new car. The argument ensued. The parents eventually gave in and decided to buy her the hanging decal. This royally pissed me off. After the conversation, I soon realized that her parents had in fact just bought her a brand new bmw, and they were paying for all of her schooling etc.
How does one get that spoiled? This is why it irked me. Here I am saving my money to go to school, while a girl bitches about a parking decal. Talk about 1st world problems.
Side note: I pay for everything. And it really annoys me.
Next I recently came across an old story about my town of Windermere, Florida. It was in regard to a mansion nicknamed Versailles after the Versailles mansion and gardens. The house is currently on the market for 75 million US dollars. Think about how much 75 million dollars is. It's a lot, especially for a home. I started to think about this home and I realized that I indeed had passed this home quite often, and wondered what it was. On the outside it looked like complete crap. It was unfinished and ugly. After doing some research I found a link stating that it was 90,000 square feet with 23 bathrooms, 13 bedrooms, 10 kitchens and had a 20 car garage. I thought to myself...TEN kitchens? For some reason this pissed me off. Who the fuck has ten kitchens, and only 13 bedrooms? I started reading the story and I realized it was up for sale because the man building it was in financial problems...no shit you're building a 75 million dollar mansion... You can read about it here
I took a video of where I live today which you can watch here:
Tonight I will get plastered to forget all of my problems...(not serious, but I will be getting drunk with my friends safely)
Idk to be honest it's their money and yeah she may be spoiled but it just means she doesn't know the value of money. I don't know why you would get so pissed about it. When I read this I feel like you're just pissed due to jealousy. I pay for my school and when I see rich kids failing school their parents paid for and having a mercedes or BMW, I don't get pissed.
I agree it's frustrating seeing people like that, but I gotta say, I really hate bumper sticker parking passes.
I refused to put mine on at grad school lol (and by mine, I mean the THREE they are supposed to slather on to your car from all directions). At least I was paying for my classes XD
i had the same situation with my car on campus, i just got a new lambo and i didn't want a sticker.. unfortunately it ended up in my parents saying fine you don't get a car at university and i had to take the bus. fuck orientations, they NEVER work out. i woke up an hour early for mine, yet i still ended up being 2 hours late to the room i needed to go to get my "roommate.."
You think a $75 million house is extravagant? Try wrapping your head around India's richest man building his family of 4 a $1 Billion house. thats right. Its "BILLION". Its only approx 27 storeys but each storey is much higher than average and the building is equivalent to a 60+ storey building in Mumbai, for a family of four only. And you know the worst part of it? HE'S NOT EVEN LIVING THERE!
You should be raging right now. Like the rest of India. His first month power bill was reported to be $150,000. Put 10% of the money you spent into such a building towards charity or making the lives of Indians below the poverty line better and the world will be a much better place. FYI, over 60% of the Indian population stays in villages/rural areas and most of these people are below the poverty line making less than $1 a day.
Gigantic and irresponsible waste of money. Goddammit, put it to better use!

There's some irony here, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is...

Contrary to popular belief, spending large quantities of money is actually great for the economy and therefore the country as a whole. There's no such thing as a "waste" of money.
You should let other people bother you like that. You are young healthy, sounds like you are in college. Things are pretty good for you right now. Let other people have their shiny things, they don't mean anything in the long run anyway. Think about what you want to accomplish, and use your time in college to make yourself into someone that can accomplish those things. The best revenge is living well anyway.
