Communication: 8/10
His ideas are presented very well and he spoke very clearly. Everything he says was easily understood, and he has a good speaking voice. There were no awkward pauses, he always has something helpful to say.
The only problem is Skype dropping/lagging during the lesson. This is nothing negative towards him, but it can be bothersome during a lesson.
Helpfulness: 8/10
He pointed out a lot of places where I can tweak my play, and pointed out a huge flaw in my ZvZ builds. The only reason I didn't score him higher was that Day9 and Artosis spoiled me with crazy deep analysis =(.
Personality: 10/10
He is someone that is perfect for coaching: social, patient etc. His game play style is macro style over heavy aggression, which is perfect for me and hopefully everyone else that is trying to get better.
Overview of my lesson:
Replay analysis (2 replays)
Practice games (3)
Observing/Shadowing me vs another player
Replay analysis:8/10
Once again, spoiled by Day9's deep analysis, but I only gave his replays a few days ago, so I didn't give him much time to analyze them, It helped to have a more personal discussion about the game, making me think about what I was planning on,what I was going to do etc. It might be cool if he just streamed his screen so I can see where he is looking at.
Practice games: 10/10
I lose almost every ZvZ game to 14/14 when I 15 hatch, and after this session, I know how to hold it better. First was me trying the 14/14 and he went 15 hatch, and he explained to me what he was planning judging by what he is seeing. Second game was me trying to execute what he did the first game, and a slight variation in the third.
I would like it to go over the replays together right after each round, but we didn't really have the time in an hour session
Shadowing 10/10
He really helped me with the shadowing, giving me tips and pointing things out that I really need to work on.
Overall, he is an excellent coach, and you should definitely give him a try! The only big recommendation is the occasional Skype problem, but that can be fixed.
Thanks for the lesson!
