i was inspired to revamp my hotkey setup because i recently purnchased this keyboard: http://www.thenoppoo.com/china/uploadfile/201012/15/031111751.jpg
as u can see the f key layout is too awesome to not take advantage of, previously i used to hotkey each my of my nexus's individually so i could have a quick reference point back to any of my bases but with this keyboard i decided that i would dedicate more of my hotkeys to units so i could multitask like a badass, im planning on using 1-5 or 6 for my units so naturally i thought that it would make more sense to have my attack move command on e rather than on a just for the sake of being more efficient, heres the full layout of my new hotkey setup:
probe > A (from E) attack > E (from A) immortal > R (from I) carrier interceptor(lawl) > R (from I) patrol > Z (from P) ctirl 0 > Q (much faster to build probes by using q > a)
+
adding f keys for each of my bases, 1-5 or 6 units(might use 6 or 7 for my robos) and my nexuses on Q.. most likely going to be leftover with 2 hotkeys
if anyone has a better/more efficient layout(or better individual hotkeys) pls feel free to make ur recommendations, u can also post ur own layouts because im always interested in seeing how other players play ^.^

wow that keyboard looks so awesome, is it kind of smaller than normal ? It looks like it. Never heard of it before.

interesting indeed. im on the steelseries g6v2, and i've done similar changes. however, on most structures I changed the hotkeys to "A - S - D". So forge Attack = A, Shields = S and Plasma = D.
Pretty much the same with robo , except I kept Collosus on C. etc etc. Patrol is on Q.
i bind nexus on 5, and use 1-4 + a few mouse buttons for army management.
being an ex moba player, it'd feel too strange having attack on E ^^

Gotta have that interceptor hotkey closer man :D

also, how is the feel of that keyboard? how far do you have to press the buttons before it registers, and also how hard are the buttons to press down?

im currently using the g6v2 aswell, ive gotten so used to it that i decided to stick with black switchs on the noppoo :/ really wanted to try red switchs but i wussed out

Efficient keyboard layouts are for people without enough APM ;p
|
also I missed u at dreamhack winter. I still have the picture me you and dimaga took last dh summer tho!!
im probably going for red switches for my next keyboarod. it could just be the 6v2, but the initial force you need to apply in order to press the buttons down is just a tad too much for my taste. i want a buffé of keyboards to play with .. O,O

I have that keyboard with red switches. It's very nice.

Hey,
I have same keyboard (nopoo choc mini black MS keyswitch)
Here's my funky hotkey setup if you're intrigued :
ctrl groups 0-9-8-7 moved to f1,f2,f3,f4
Save camera viewpoint on : mouse4 mouse5 (side buttons on mx518) W R shift+mouse4 shift+mouse5 shift+W
Immortal = E (from I)
Build robo = E (from R)
I gotta say I really like having all my ctrl groups near the same portion of the keyboard for my left hand and Save camera viewpoints on mouse is pretty awesome too.

if you use the middle mouse button in SC2 is greatly discourage you from purchasing the g9x before trying it. it is VERY hard to press. however if you don't, or if you could change whatever u bind to middle mouse to another button, it's probably the best mouse you'll ever own. g400 is great aswell, but even with my 6 year mx518 background (predecessor to the g400) i prefer the g9x
