The more I thinknabout it the more I feel compelled to host a badass LAN party at my house. A little about me:
I'm Charlie. My bnet ID is FreightCndr.533. I'm 25 years old and I've been a train conductor for seven years. I own a house in Leominster Ma and have a few extra rooms (available for rent if you need a place). I love playing games of all sorts. D&D, SC2, many many other computer games, Boardgames, tabletop, GO... you name it.
My idea is that I'd like to host an awesome party. I've had many Dance Parties, basement shows with various bands, quiet D&D sesssions, Keg party (I have a kegerator ready to accept any quality beer). Miniramp skate sesh with pro skaters from all around (there is a sick mini in the garage along with a half built bouldering wall).
BUT! I have never had a lan party. I think it could be awesome. Perhaps a whole weekend where people can come and go. There will be guestrooms open, we can stream a tounament... I have FiOS internet at 30down30up avrage speed so I think the network will be able to handle it. What other ideas do you think would be good? I'm in Central Ma so I don't even know how many people would come. This is my first step in making the most bad ass nerd party ever.

Sounds cool dude.
If you plan it they will come?
GL!

That's my plan! It's just going to happen. I have at least three friends that are coming.

How would you get all the comps? Also, the idea of going to a stranger's home in Central MA.....it seems to scream Headline News soon to follow.
I don't know if I'm overreacting but I just feel that having it in a public Lan-Center or University nearby would be much more comfortable for most.

You can't have drinks and be loud till 4 am at a university or lan center. If you're afraid of a strangers house you should really get out and see the world a little more. You'll often notice it's not as scary as mom and dad made you think.
Edit: That sounds dickish but I mean it in a nice way. I just mean ya gotta get out and experience life.
|
It's also not a playground =] To each his (or her) own
EDIT: I hope your LAN goes well ^-^
|
How many strangers have tried to harm you? It's very rare to meet someone that is actually evil. Most people are just normal people. Internet trolls aside no one is all that bad.
Edit: One Love.
