Hello guys, I'm here to share my experience with SlayersMin coaching. So the first thing you guys should know is that he doesn't speak English very well, so he uses a live translator. My biggest concern going into the lesson was that it would be very slow, since I'd ask a question, the translator would translate, he would answer and then the translator would translate back. It's actually a lot more fluid then you might think. The translator has perfect English and Min always seems to have a sensible answer ready. In my lesson I was having trouble in ZvT. He gave me a build order and for every action he explained the reasoning behind it. We moved into a game where Min would play the translator, using this build order in execution and I could pause at any moment to ask questions about what he was doing. After that I played a game against the translator and Min would watch me play and correct anything I did wrong. I think what I liked the most about Min's coaching is that he seemed genuinely interested in helping me. I've been coached before by some big western names and, maybe because they've coached so many people, they don't seem that interested in my game, while Min seemed very attentive to anything I asked. Another thing to note is that I payed for one hour of coaching and the lesson extended for more 30 minutes, by request of Min himself. Also keep in mind that the decision of learning a build order was mine, I know some people don't like that very much but I think that at my level of play I'd benefit from it the most, but Min was open to doing anything I asked from him. I think thats pretty much it guys, here are some link if you'd like to know more about Min: His stream Wiki Page
Thanks and sorry about any English mistakes =)

interesting review, but just FYI, your links for his wiki and his stream didn't work (meaning you didn't link anything at all)

That is pretty awesome. Glad to see Koreans being more active in the foreign community . Also, your his stream/wiki page do not have links attached !

I think every person benefits differently from coaching. For me it helped a lot, I'm winning all my ZvTs now when before I was losing most of them...

The coaching sounds sweet, but did you have to pay extra for the translator. I mean was there a fee for the coaching and a fee for the translator?
|
Yeah, thanks for posting this. It is good to get an idea of each coach's abilities.
I'm sure there would have been no fee for the translator in this case as Min would otherwise not have the coaching job. The translator would have been Cryingpoo, who seems to do it voluntarily (unless Min pays him some money unbeknownst to me).

No, I don't know if Min pays the translator (I don't think so), but i just payed him, and it was actually pretty cheap...

Awesome write-up. Looks like SlayersMin is a down to earth Korean guy. You get quite a few down-to-earth Oriental asians around Many mums teaches us good manner and etiquette in East Asia

Wow, I never knew about Korean pros doing coaching! (I mean, I'm not into it but it's so awesome to hear about!)
Plus, you are, in a way, being indirectly being coached by BoxeR.

Do you know how I can get in contact with Slayers_Min? I'd actually like to get some coaching from him (Surprisingly enough, his rates are cheaper than most NA/EU pro players/coached. <3 Koreans)

I would like to get in contact with him as well

Slayers are actually all really nice people.
I remember the times when Cella used to do like 15$ lessons when he was up at like 4am for him. Look at him now: Director + Best Coach Award...

Having more people inquiring about the lesson now which is great; )
