hihi everyone, I'm going to start recording my ladder sessions per day and maybe get some tips or discussion out of it. I know there's been a lot of these ladder blogs around, and I thought it was a cool idea so why not. I don't think many people read these though unfortunately, but hopefully someone might enjoy this. Anyway for today's ladder!
Start: rank 5 Diamond End: rank 1 Diamond 11 wins 8 losses 2 games vs. masters players (both zerg, lost both as well )
Overall today was really good. When I started I had ~5 bonus pool since I stopped playing early yesterday. Today was apparently Zerg day on the ladder. out of my 19 matches I think 13 or 14 of them were vs. zerg. TvZ is my least favorite match up by far so it sucks that the ladder is dominated by zergs, especially top diamond/low masters. Today I started out doing a 1 rax expo into double medivac drop (attack is hopefully around 8-9 minutes) but the zergs were almost always prepared for it. After a few games I realized this build wasn't working that well, so I went for my good ol' standby - reactor hellion expand. I experimented with using the hellions to just deny vision for the zerg and then attacking at 8-9 minutes with 3 tanks and a handful of marines. It was imperative to keep the zerg in the dark because if they are able to spot the push coming and can defend with no drone losses they can get a 3rd up relatively uncontested and they have a huge advantage. Usually though, this build worked wonders as zergs only made a few lings for the hellions and instead teched up to mutas, which this build basically hard counters.
The 3 games I played against protoss I won two pretty handily and lost the other to an all in. I just did the usual 2 rax reactor first expand and tried to delay their expo while i got mine up and just macro'd to a victory. I lost one game because of some weird 2 base 6 gate immortal/zealot build that was pretty powerful. I did a poor job scouting though and only had two bunkers up, so there was basically no way to defend it.
TvT is probably my strongest matchup right now overall, and I usually can win very easily. I only played about 2-3 terrans and I won two of them again and lost one. I usually open up with just one banshee to harass while expoing. People can usually defend the banshee pretty well, so I don't get many kills with it but it's good for keeping people in their base while I can set up some bunkers. I go marine/tank in this matchup almost exclusively, and usually the opponent does the same. The real problem I have though is vs. mech because marines melt. It's hard to transition out of marine/tank when you have raxes with reactors and only 1/2 factories, so unless i can tell he's going mech really early I have a lot of trouble with it. I definitely need to scout better because if I'm able to switch into pure bio it's hard for the mech user to stop drops and stuff.
Well, that is basically it for today. Idk when the next blog is going to be because my family and I are going to my grandparents house for thanksgiving, and although I play on a laptop Idk if they have wireless internet or not, plus it's rude to just play SC the whole time. I'm leaving tomorrow and we're supposed to be staying for basically the whole week. It's going to suck having a week without much practice, and I really really hope I won't be set back too far. Thanks for reading this guys!! <3

Remember, division ranking actuly means nothing.
If Player A and Player B have the same MMR, but player A gets placed in a very active division, he could be say #70'th, while player B is in a less competitive division and is 3'rd, again, with the exact same skill level and MMR.
The only way to compare to other players directly is the points system, which doesnt work below masters because leagues use a weird offset system that makes them impossible to compare.
GL on ladder though.
You should be able to beat mech with bio play, im pretty sure you would need some marauders and medivacs though, see MVP vs MMA gsl finals from blizzcon if you can get the vods, MVP went mech pretty much every game

I'm mostly facing mid-high diamonds and only played like 2 masters players today. Sucks because I need better practice, I can win vs. diamond players easily right now, but i'm still not playing enough masters for some reason.

You shouldnt be comparing MMR and division rank period the end, at masters and GM you can compare MMR directly to the points system (as favored etc works pretty well) and they are linked at masters+ in a comparable fashion, otherwise just focus on >50% winrate
