MLG providence format 2011

So I'm watching MLG, and instead of having it simple, they have to make shit convoluted and I do not understand.

I tried reading liquipedia but I dont get anything... >.>

Note the section where it says "Players seeded 1-4 will start in Championship Winners' Bracket Round 4."

Why are the top 1-4 players facing each other in seemingly semifinals? Whats the point of all the other games? We're only at day 1 if I'm correct and we're already at the finals? Is there someone who can make this comprehensive?

Is a bit easier to understand. There is no pool play this time. All the players are seeded further along into the tournament based on their past performances in MLG.

Still doesnt connect in my head. I understand that there is no pool play and the top 16 is seeded into the championship bracket. What I am wondering is how they are already at the finals, and where nestea and MVP came from when they arent listed at the liquipedia bracket.

Oooohh I understand your question now.
They are currently playing the finals of the MLG global invitational. Its a tourney that has been going on for a few months.

They are doing the semi finals and finals while the other players are playing in the open bracket for the actual MLG tourney.

Aha, they're playing the finals of that other online tourney... that makes sense.
