Looks promising I wonder how long until we can try it first hand

Wow, this actually was unexpected. O.O
Looks like a nice addition to Bnet.

That looks pretty slick. I didn't get to see it today, wow.

this is all good, expect the part where we have to buy maps.

Lookin' good but I'm holding off with my final judgement until I try it out myself.

Quite good I'd say. The one problem I see is that it still doesn't address the problem with niche maps. For example in broodwar there was a small community that played strategic war maps, maps with auto spawns representing real war battles. In broodwar when a game like this is made only people who like it join, and people who like it can find a lot of enjoyment. This still won't be possible under the new system. Overall much better though.

5:20 on the video is awesome. Looks like Blizzard DOTA has some fans!

I REALLY like the new updates and I really like that they won't just be giving this new system to the hots players (even though i will be getting hots for sure lol).

I really like this new system. Although it certainly won't replace the demand for a traditional B.net 1.0 lobby system, it is at least much better than the interface that we have now.
The ability to rate games should be a significant improvement to the current system. Apparently, the "Up and Coming" section features games that are high-rated but not played very much, which should be quite helpful to the plethora of really great but unpopular maps floating around nowadays (Nexus Word Wars ftw).
The new queuing system also looks quite interesting, and should be quite useful for lesser-played maps if the system actually works as intended.

Yes it look awesome. I especially like using the Matchmaking system to find games.
Now I can be bronze in all sense @_@

does this also means we are getting non-ranked custom 1v1 games with players at our skill level now? Or is it simply for use map setting games (the old bw term)?

Hope they scrap the pay for maps option

Possibly it will be possible to create custom maps that use your MMR from ladder to put you with someone of similar skill level.

I still hate how you can't make your own lobby. The best part about SC1 customs was the ability to rejoin the same game with (most of) the same people. It was a great addition to the community and a great way to make friends.

It looks really great, especially the UI. It looks very simple and crisp and all that.
Also, nice to see this... custom game ladder? or maybe it just searches for games.
The join chat looks like it can be very useful.

Mapmakers themselves have the decision to make it free or not. So if you think about it, most maps will be free. Those that need you to pay won't make any money unless they are actually really good. In which case I don't see a problem paying a few dollars, maybe it'll even just be like 1-2 lol (if a few hundred play your game, that's a good amount of income for something you like to do anyways).
