Sage, JYP, and HerO have all shown amazing potential, especially in PvZ.
Unfortunately, PvT is still far from figured out and/or balanced, the best showing we have really had in PvT's has been Creator.
MC IS still a great protoss, anyone who really knows what to look for in games can see this, his control and quick* decision making can be top notch. However, he is trending into older strategies, which is not working out so well for him. His control is still showing through with WP HT and such though, and if his approach catches up to his preciseness in builds and control, he will again be a great Protoss if not the best.
Naniwa, Huk, and Sase are also very good, but being in Korea and not being able to play in the GSL/GSTL as much doesn't let a person gauge them as much.
The one surprisingly bright light for protoss will be the PvP matchup. With PvP requiring a bit more strategy and the ability to generate longer games with more possibilities and depth than the micro wars of the past, the better protoss will hopefully be able to win through more often, making sure we don't loose rising stars and aquire new ones that are only stars at PvP.

There is no Protoss Nestea. Sage and JYP emulate some of his characteristics in their play, but they aren't in Code S, and it would be extremely tough for either of them to get a single GSL title.
|
We simply need a Protoss with MC's macro, Sage's creativity, Hero's late game, and JYP's micro.
Reminds me of SC1 where if you could combine Bisu and Stork, you would get P bonjwa.

I'd guess Perfectman. + Show Spoiler +Uh, not what you meant ? Sorry, we're keeping Reach =)

For sure Incontrol is the Nestea of sc2. He's probably the smartest protoss player out there.

If you want to go by intelligence, Liquid'Tyler is far smarter...problem is he doesn't have good work ethic.

My money is on Yonghwa Best Terran in the world, IMMVP, best Zerg, IMNestea, (arguably) 2nd best zerg in the world, IMLosira, Up and coming Terran, round of 8 code s first season in it, IMHappy..... I'm noticing a trend, its only a matter of time before IM completes their evil plan of world domination and Yonghwa takes his place at the top. Artosis frequently mentions him as one of the last hopes of Protoss.

I need a HerO I’m holding on for a HerO ‘til the end of the night.
Seriously I hope Bisu or JangBi switches... I mean I'm used to 4 year droughts where my race does shit all except take every 2nd place title (Thank you Stork!) I dunno... My hopes on Nal_Ra! lol "Technical Toss comes back and ravages sc2!" would make for a good headline

MC is one of the best players of any race in terms of mechanics, his fall-off has nothing to do with game balance, GSL just has it set up so that if you lose 4-5 Bo1's and a Bo3 you go straight from Code S to Code B.
It's easy to dismiss MC's success as "He played Protoss when it was the best race" but if you watch his subbed FPVOD he's one of the fastest and most accurate players out there. Take his forcefields for example, MC uses F-click-F-click-F-click instead of hold F-click-click-click and he gets more accuracy, but he's just as fast because he has insane hand speed. So all the FF-imba complaints that came after MC played a match should have been "MC-hand-speed-imba".

What about Liquid Hero? Is he the protoss hero?
Can't wait till ForGG comes online though, he and MVP will be the best Terrans.
|
MC.
His unit control is the best out of all P players. His macro is the best out of all P players.
He's having a lot of strategical issues right now, but let's not forget the builds that MC created or helped popularize:
* 1 gate expand vs Z * DT expand vs Z * Expand -> 5 gate vs Z/T * 1 gate Robo vs 4 Gate in PvP (even on Tal'Darim)
To say he lacks the creativity of Sage is false. MC hasn't been innovative recently, but he is by no means a cookie cutter player.

Hopefully MC can get out of his slump and show us some new styles

I wonder about NexSickness sometimes...

Well MC's old nemesis Puma is also there, I would be VERY interested to see the finals come down to them again.

The same goes for MVP, but to a higher degree, he is by far the best TvT player, and his TvZ might even surpass MMA. Nobody's seen his TvP for ages, so maybe that's his weak matchup.
Sage, JYP and Oz are still up-and-comers, Nestea hasn't been an up-and-comer since...err, GSL1? Still, at that point he was known for his bleak BW background as a 2v2'er and coach (I think it was coach?).
So basically, until MC comes back or one of these Code A protoss really get it on in Code S we don't have a representative.
Wat. Your definition of ages is less than a month? He dismantled Huk and MC last GSL dude...
