Semi tipsy me thought it would a great fucking idea to reinstall iccup and ladder a bit on it. I used to be C high on iccup as zerg. In SC2, I'm around low masters/low diamond level, pretty bad I know but I took a year break after beta because it never got me hooked as hard as bw did.
Anyways, back to the iccup games. Man, was it FUCKING hard compared to sc2. The inferior interface and retarded unit AI required much better mouse and unit control than sc2 I still managed to go 4-1 against the current D players online. One game, I forgot to pick zerg and got terran so I decided to double proxy rax in middle of python haha,
I played a couple of ZvTs and man do I miss muta micro and lurkers. I never got to late game because lurkers would usually end the game haha. Lurker leapfrogging against SK terran wannabes =) Its still hard to believe how many hours I have put into this game.
If I had to compare my sc2 experience to my BW experience, BW hands down was much more enjoyable. The skill ceiling is just downright ridiculous. This just made each win that much better. The few games that I played today reminded me just how hard this game and just how ridiculously good the pros are.
I'm obviously still going to play sc2 but I'm sure I will find myself logging onto iccup more now ^__^
I would like to thank L Master for rekindling my interest in bw. Watching all these threads trying to revive SCBW was really inspiring and heartwarming. With this kind of dedication from the community, I'm 100% sure that anything is possible.

I was just spectating for a long time but now getting into playing again properly...very rewarding. Even losses are rewarding. I was sweating like hell after a 40min TvP earlier, it's fucking intense. Just need to learn ZvP and PvZ a bit more so i can have fun with those, every other matchup i enjoy. But it feels like i immediately die to hydra busts or speedlot timings in those.. not a big fan of remembering build orders but would really like to at least be able to get to midgame.
I was also sort of inspired by recent events and felt like i should get involved with more than just obsing. Help along the newer guys too and not just crush them into the ground every game and not say anything while doing it.

sounds like you had a fun first game back lol. i was just playing bw recently and was having the same feeling you did but 5 mins in i kill an scv, get called a hacker and then get drophacked by some BR dude -_-. couldn't find another game so i just got off. probably would be better if i learned how to get on fish instead lol.
