Growing up in China-town in Seattle my main circle of friends was predominantly Japanese. I started going to Seattle Nihongo Gakkou and from there got heavily into Japanese music. I've since married a Japanese woman and my life is heavily enveloped by the culture, and my wife constantly bombards me with great new bands.
Without further adeu, I would like you to listen to the following;
toe
Mainly an instrumental only band, every so often their add lyrics to their songs. This song is one of their best and has multiple versions with different guest singers. If you like this, check out the version with Toki Asako.
Spangle call Lilli line
I am a huge fan of indie rock with female vocalists. This band has some of the most relaxing music I have ever heard. There is a special place in my heart for bands who have stayed so low key for all these years and still haven't gone major.
andymori
Somewhat of a newer band, I am suprised they have such a classic jam session feel to them. They have a few "punkish" songs that I don't care for, but they have some gems such as this one too.
Clammbon
Perhaps my favourite band. Clammbon has been around forever and they have never let the changing times take anything away from their original sound. Harada Ikuko has an amazing voice that is so addicting to listen to.
Well there you have it, a sample of some of my favourites. I am not very good at blogging so I hope this is a decent attempt to share some of my music with all of you. Let me know what you think, I will post more if you guys would like.
Thanks for checking it out~
