Starcraft II cannot be easily summed up. An attempt to do so, would be selling the game short.
Without babbling in pseudophilosophy, SCII is not one game but many. The level of involvement required to make progress is daunting but irresistible. While undeniably under the influence of incredible bias, I would gladly argue SCII is the best multiplayer game. EVER.This game has hooked me by the cheek, reeled me out of skeptical waters, and crushed my skull with a rock of solid conviction. It's taken nearly 8 months, but the bittersweet truths are sinking in:
1) Improvement will depend on the ability to learn from suffering thousands of losses.

2) Victory is not guaranteed. Defeat is inevitable.

3) There is no moral high ground, no merciful way to win. Advantages are taken, not given. All players are subject to the same rules. Allegations of cheap play are a loser's cry pillow.

4) Patience, hard work, and practice do pay off.

5) I ♥ this game!

Although only top 8 in Silver(special league), my advances in skill are encouraging. I used to be
ignorant to the most obvious and crucial objectives like constant worker production, taking expansions, not getting supply blocked, scouting and reacting, keeping resources low, holding the towers, watching the minimap, etc...Now being top dog in Silver might not sound like impressive growth + Show Spoiler +
it isn't
