To those who loved Columbus, MLG offered a special deal during the Columbus event: $15 for both Anaheim and Raleigh HD!

It sounds like a great deal, when it is $10 per event, right? But now, you can buy Silver Membership for 3 months, covering both Anaheim and Raleigh for $9.99.

1 event: $10.
2 events: $15 (special!)

Or...

3 months: $10 (which includes both events and possibly even Orlando).

Jigga say what? Is this an attempt to phase out event-based subscriptions?

Pretty sure if you purchase a three month pass, after the three months go by you can no longer view that content.

Whereas if you purchase event passes you can view VODs, interviews, etc from the event forever

I could be mistaken but that makes sense to me

I don't think event passes give you VODs, etc. forever? I know the GSL ones do, but I don't think the MLG ones do - at least nothing on the MLG website seems to indicate that.

Even the MLG website suggests this:

"Pro tip: Save on HQ passes by purchasing an MLG League Membership. Members receive free HQ passes for all Pro Circuit live streams."

Doesn't this just screw over those who bit when MLG offered their "special" deal during Columbus?

they give you a $14.99 credit towards the purchase of a membership if you bought the special columbus deal, check your email if you bought one. title is "Your Columbus HQ Purchase", I got mine at 12:55 am EST this morning/last night

dammit antoine I was just about to say that

Yeah I got a deal to get the yearly or 3 month membership for half off sence I bought the 2 event pass.

I got that email, but here's the text:

So, if I read what you're saying right and what they wrote right, "to show [their] gratitude" they are letting my $15 for Anaheim / Raleigh count towards a Gold membership for a year? Even though their email seems to be all, "NEW SPECIAL DISCOUNT DEAL /JUST FOR YOU/" - so, their special deal/gratitude is that they're not going to screw over their customers?

I mean, I think you're right - and I guess it's not that bad, but man. I expected more.

But it still seems like they are looking to try to get as many people converted to memberships as opposed to single event tickets.
