Previously we was able to customize animated space background in Battle.Net menu, picture at Battle.net screens, Stronger Team Color mod, and other small customizations, that changed graphic in game a bit.

Now, this time, we're trying to start and try modify ingame UI. And now we have 2 ways to modify it: custom made overlay program and recolored textures. First way is a similar to Xplit, that adds overlay, so you can see a lot different bottombars at many streams. But "UI changer" allows to do that for yourself, not for viewers only! Also, with your Photoshop or designer skills, now YOU can draw your interface!

SC2 UI Changer

Similar to overlay function, that many streamers using via Xplit, this very small programm (made by Anton_K) allows you to modify ingame UI without altering or modifying ingame resources! You must change your StarCraft 2 to Fullscreen (Windowed) mode and it will work properly.

How it works

After launching program, you will see small SCII icon. Right-clicking it opens menu, where you can select skin. Just select any transparent PNG file and it will show that picture over all windows.

SC2 UI Changer supports some hotkeys

Ctrl+Alt+S - select skin window. Opens window, where you can select any skin via Explorer
Ctrl+Alt+A - activate/deactivate skin overlay

System requirements:
- Windows XP SP2 or later (tested on Windows 7)

- Minimum size of image is 1024x768

Known issues
- Sometimes when you're alt-tabing, skin can dissapear. This bug can be fixed by turning skin on/off

Theoretically this programm can be used for other games or programms, because there are no connection to StarCraft 2. This is just overlay with selected picture and nothing more. Look for latest updates in original author's topic.

Fullscreen(windowed) and Windowed - are two different screen modes.

Borderless window is much better than true fullscreen anyway, so I don't see the problem.

The gamma setting in graphics options doesn't work in windowed mode, so I don't use it.

Why don't you just change your gamma settings in your graphics card drivers then?

Because it would affect everything else. I use my monitor for photographic work, and it's measured and calibrated.

Hm, that may be a solution, but the only setting I can find is off or on (nvidia). I can't find any way to set a specific gamma. I guess I could change the setting to off for every application except starcraft, but that's more trouble than it's worth.

This skin is really unique thanks to Hanzo - he did great job on designing truly alien interface with Zergy feeling. I've used some parts of carapace from his overlay to create another Zergy overlay with nice border for 1-2nd unit groups, unit portrait showing and with displaying HOTS UI buttons, like idle workers/select army or social/menu buttons.
