Official English Statement
Dear GOMTV.net users,
We have to announce sad news today. SKtelecom_Rain has forfeited his match in the GSL Season 5 Code S Ro32 Group D because of a schedule conflict.
SKtelecom_Rain will be leaving for Dallas (U.S.) to participate in MLG’s Fall Championship, therefore he has forfeited his GSL Code S Ro32 matches and has informed the tournament administration on October 31st.
We have continuously adjusted our schedule for about a year and a half since 2011 MLG Columbus and our tournament administration has changed our schedule to try to accommodate our players’ timetables as much as possible. (Some communities have wondered why some champions have not shown up for the first group of Code S Ro32 and this is the reason why)
To try to minimize the shifting of schedules in the future, we have received the schedules from all managers of teams in the GSL/GSTL in advance so that we can avoid further conflicting tournaments. Players let us know of any upcoming tournaments that they are attending so that we can fix our brackets and broadcasts accordingly. This is revealed to our fans and partners. This last Friday, we have received all the players’ schedules including SK Telecom T1 and we have revealed our schedule last Saturday. (Rain's schedule according SK Telecom 1 included the events: OSL Finals, Blizzard World Championship, and the G-Star in Busan)
However, on October 29th, SK Telecom T1 asked GOMTV if Rain would be able to participate in MLG Dallas and if it would be possible to change our schedule. We have checked all other players' schedules to see if Rain could have played on another day. Because of various other groups of players that we had to shift around due to their already submitted schedules, we were unable to accommodate Rain in this matter.
SK Telecom T1 has ultimately has chosen to send Rain to MLG Dallas and have officially informed us. Therefore, even though we have looked for all possible ways for him to play in both events, our current schedule did not allow us to make it happen.
His match will be handled as a walkover for his opponents and the match schedule will be adjusted as follows. This does not mean that he is out of the GSL. He will be given the 4th place of Code S Ro32 Group D and is now placed in the Code A Round 1 bracket.

The short, paraphrased version of KR statement.
Rain will not be participating in Code S due to a scheduling conflict with his flight to MLG Dallas.
GomTV has always been working hard to fix schedule conflicts so that players could compete in foreign tournaments, and that is sometimes why you've seen the previous champion not play a match on opening day of a new season. Before GomTV confirms and announces its schedules, we receive schedules of the participating players from the management of the teams.
For this season, GomTV had also received schedules for the participating players including Rain by last Friday, and the announced the official schedules on Saturday. (SK T1 sent us information for Rain competing in the OSL finals, the Blizzard World Championship, and one other minor event).
However, on the 29th, around the opening match of the new season, SK T1 confirmed participation in MLG and sent us an inquiry about changing the schedule. In order to accomodate Rain, we checked the schedules of the players in other groups, but the other players were also tied up in MLG, ESWC, or other tournaments. We could not change Rain's schedule without interfering with the participation of players in other tournaments, and informed SKT1 that we could not change his schedule.
Thus, SK Telecom chose MLG between the two tournaments, and though we though about schedule changing till the end, it was impossible. According to the rules, Rain has been walked over in his group, and he will be sent to Code A round one as 4th place in his group.

Before you guys strictly blame KeSPA for this, don't forget they still have a lot of players who are currently competing in the GSL. KeSPA is also partnered with MLG currently as well. This very well could have been strictly Rain's decision... or not.
