But if he honestly forfeited his Code S seed for a CHANCE at winning $25,000 and having to go ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE OPEN BRACKET, then he might be the best player in the world, but not the best decision maker. Hopefully GSL does what they did with (other)Rain and suspend him for a season. Rain was one of the GSL's main stars after S4 and could have been a reason why a lot of people bought a ticket. I guess making a big name for himself in America is a good move, and he does have WCS Global Finals also this month that he might have put more priority on than Code S, but it seems like a foolish move. If he was in group play, I can maybe see it, but what happens if he rolls MC in the OB, loses a PvP and then has to win 30 matches in a row to even make Championship Sunday? Edit: I just realized this is the second time in history a player has given up their Code S seed willingly. BOTH WERE NAMED RAIN. I thought they suspended Rain for a year not a season. And Idra also gave up Code S willingly, so 3 players?

Its a good experience for the players and in this case its KeSPA getting out. KeSPA getting global is good for eSports. Definitely not a "F*ck the GSL and eSF" move by Rain, he probably wanted to play abroad. it's kind of "fuck the gsl and esf" considering he had a seed into code S and has to go through an open bracket at mlg

Coca was forced to forfeit.

It's pretty much proven Kespa controls their players and they can't just decide on what tournaments to play on their own. Why do you think last time when all the kespa players were asked if they were going to play in code a qualifiers every single one of them said, I want to, but it's up to my team to decide. Kespa players do not have free will.

edit: I know KeSPA blah blah blah but do you really think they're stupid enough to take their best player, the player that is the best case for confirming the "OMG KESPA PLAYERS SO FUCKING GOOD" belief, out of GSL? if the other KeSPA players were leaving GSL, sure, but they wouldn't pull their best shot at making GOM/ESF look bad, they're not that stupid.

And I believe Rain got banned for two seasons. Idra didn't get banned since he left for America and didn't return to Korea for a year.

Rain is not the first player to forfeit a GSL match due to another tournament. Hell I remember Leenock was gonna forfeit his spot in Up and Downs if he didn't win his Code A match. We live in a scene where tournaments overlap with each other all the time. Players give up spots in one to compete in another. Remember when Hero ditched WCS to play in MLG? This stuff just happens.
