Interesting that SKT didn't include MLG on the submitted schedule for Rain and then the team elected to send him there instead of playing GSL.

This is way too convenient for KeSPA in my personal opinion. Last season KeSPA tried to block their players from participating in the GSL until the ESF stepped in. Now "their" OSL Champion goes to MGL and announces it so late that GOM has no chance to reschedule the Code S groups. Am I the only one who thinks this seems a little bit weird?

Staying in the GSL is actually economically a bad decision, travelling the world and taking foreign events gets you the purse--look at MC. The only reason you would want to play GSL is during the downtime while you practice. If your a world class player, the RATIONAL perspective is to view GSL as a glorified off season while the rest of the year you travel and pocket thousands in front of large crowds. Uhh because Rain doesn't plan to travel to a ton of foreign tournaments like MC due to the MLG/Kespa partnership.

Let's not make assumptions about Kespa now...

They're partnered with MLG, so they probably feel obliged to send their best and most publicized player, with the added bonus of giving KeSPA global exposure and getting a free stab at GSL's viewer count. If Rain wanted to go to MLG, good for him. But I kinda feel like he would have had to go whether he liked it or not.

No, you are not the only one. This seems like a power play, given what we know so far.
