"My fellow shipmates The time has come for us to take the righteous stand against those who would tear us apart and kill us. In a time like this, trust and compassion is hard to come by. For, surely, this is now about survival. We fight, or we die. On each day, we will have the ability to eliminate one potential threat to our well-being. On the first day, this decision will rest in the hands of the captain. However, I feel strongly that the captain should not be alone in the responsibility of making this decision. Every man, woman, and child aboard this ship should have the ability to have their voices heard and to help sway the captain towards deciding who we eventually are forced to remove from amongst us. Additionally, there are bound to be some secrets regarding the goings-on aboard this ship locked within the Captain's Cabin itself. Whoever is elected the Captain must agree to share any perks and benefits, including the old geezer's bottle of scotch, with the rest of the crew, regardless of what it is. However, I would also like to provide a little bit of advice, a word of warning so to speak... I know a lot of us, me included, would not mind being the Captain of this vessel and attempt to guide us all safely back home. But we must be very careful to not dwell too much on the Captain and his role. I have heard tales that in a land far away, one being was chosen by a motley crew of humans similar to us to embrace the role of The Wheatley, but the abilities and mechanics of The Wheatley tore the town apart and distracted them from the matter at hand of hunting scum. I have said all that I feel needed to be said. I will be in my cabin if you all need me. Stand strong, for the worst is yet to come, but through the worst of times, remember that the night is darkest just before the dawn." | ||

 Theres been a lot of good discussion going on with regards to transparency or secrecy for the captain... I think that whoever gets elected captain will be the one who has to make that call, really. I agree with what people have said that the captain needs to be able to make an executive decision if he thinks that none of the candidates that town votes for are scum, and there is another target whom he thinks is likely to be scum. While I agree that the captain should call his lynch in order to give people a chance to defend/wrap up their matters, I can also see scum exploiting that with fakeclaims etc... As I said before, I wouldn't mind being captain if you all think I'm trustworthy enough, but I have a history of making bad reads (pushed for a ton of bad mislynches in my first game, had the completely wrong reads in Arkham City too) and in retrospect it would probably be better if I were not captain. The person I'll vote for captain needs to be someone who generally has good reads, is someone I have a reasonably good town read on, and is also willing to listen to peoples opinions and think/post rationally with little spam and clear sensible points. So far all the people who are running have satisfied only one or two of these criteria... Except, that is, for GMarshal... GMarshal, in order to gain my vote you have to answer the following questions: - Who would you vote for if you had the same criteria as me? - Why would you lynch VayeshMoru instead of any of the 10 other people who haven't really contributed anything yet?? | ||

##vote: GMarshal Something's nagging me a bit... I really don't see how we can go to a night phase without a lynch but just a captain... Is this actually Day 0 with a full Night 0 happening before our first lynch?? When does the captain's lynch go through? Does he get to control the lynch the next day after a full night of actions, or does the lynch happen before the night happens?? | ||

Did you actually read my posts??? :S My first post was me running for captain, I felt there wasn't that much flavor in there, a lot of it was my stance on key matters, as well as ideas regarding transparency, etc. My second post was me changing my mind since I realized that if I had to make an executive decision i'd most likely be wrong in my reads and it'd be better for town to have a better player in the role. If you actually read the parts that you label, it contains me outlining characteristics that would make a good mayor and why I think GMarshal was a good choice for captaincy... If you want to come up with someone to FoS at least put in the effort to read the posts fully. Don't just try to pick someone and come up with a random cause... That's something scum would do | ||

Talismania: The reason I asked you if you would like to be captain was because you were (and still are) my best town read... I would like you to contribute more focused opinions on who you'd want to lynch and why instead of broad spectrums though... Also: FoS Jackal58: Get back in here and give us updated reads or something... Your entire contribution to the thread has been soft-opposing GMarshal because he was voting for sandroba, randomly proclaiming you lean town on Node, and then a lot of really weak town reads... What do you think of Zentor? Entering PM land, feel free to PM me if you want anything | ||

My best scum read right now is risk.nuke based completely on the thread... Disregarding activity since he said he'd be busy till Tuesday, and I haven't had a chance to PM with him yet (sent, waiting for reply, if anybody has any information on him/conversation with him, either post it here or PM me a log) In terms of his thread behavior, his case against Zentor was very flimsy, and he became confrontational when asked to come up with actual reasoning to support it... He's been very confrontational to a couple of people throughout the game (Kurumi, Zentor, Erandorr), without following up against any of them with a meaningful case... Its a weak read, but its one of the very few I've got. This thread is dead, and i'm not enjoying my first and probably last PM game, lol... Can we focus a bit more of the discussion in the public eye as opposed to in PMs?? | ||
