So...I got banned because I expressed my dislike towards current SC2 LR threads look, and my fondness of BW LR threads design and look. I admit, the post was formulated in a extremely trollish way, and I deserved my ban.
But I still stand by the fact that SC2 LR threads are miles behind BW ones. And yes, I understand that BW is less frequent so people have time to set up all those fancy threads. I really appreciate Seeker's and all of the others efforts and contribution to LR SC2 games, but I feel that the the LR threads just keep growing with useless text, bad formating, bad design and so on, which just doesn't look good, at least to me, and makes it a bit less exciting to open the new GSL LR thread for the first time.
So I've set up this thread to show a proposal of how LR might look like. Some of you might hate it, but that's not the point. The point is to encourage people with some Photoshop skills and willingness to enhance SC2 LR threads that Seeker and Co keep so delightfully updated with results and LRs to help them out.
The thread is clean, pleasing to the eye, and all the neccessary info is easily seen, which I think is not the case with the current SC2 LR threads.
Unfortunately, I work in mornings when GSL is on, so I won't be able to update this thread. I will leave to Seeker and others to see if any of this is good and whether they should change their approach to design of LR threads. After they set up a new LR thread for this group, this one can be locked/deleted.
And if anything, I have now realised how quickly working with spoilers and TLPD links turns into a nightmare. I have some experience with Photoshop, so even though I can't LR, I might be willing to help with designing some of the banners, if needed.

I agree there has been a lot of clutter in the recent GSL threads. It makes navigating a bit cumbersome. :$

Hum, in my opinion this is waaaay less exiting to open than the seeker's threads, you never know what is it going to be, cats, photos, random stuff...this is serius and polite though and looks more "clean". I think it would be a good thing to do a thread kind of this sort but with all the awesomeness in seeker's threads, maybe make the awesomeness spoiled so people who just want to look at the important info shall find it easily.

This is not a complete thread (that's why there's no polls or song list or any other standard thing), as I won't be able to update it. A new thread will be created, probably by Seeker. Maybe he will just quote my post and use it in a new thread or create his own standard one. Anyway is good, I just want to see some better looking threads in the future.
All I see this thread as is, I want to be the person who does these thread and be somewhat "e-famous" for it or a battle between Bw LR thread and Sc2 Threads. I've never seen Bw LR threads nor do I care to look at it since I don't watch it bit if you look at your set-up and this one http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=302463 You'll see that even though you have less things in it, it doesn't mean it's better. Actually I think your is inferior to Seeker's.
First of all, Seeker includes a message at the top so people know about the fast foward key and the potential lag the stream causes sometimes. He also days who the casters will be which I find to be important to know seeing how there's so many casters and even though Artosis and Tasteless do the Code S usually, they don't always do it(usually when other tournaments are going on and they go to those ones instead.)
It is then followed by where this one starts. The pictures of the players and the matches. Now his is a bit longer onw seeing how he had to add who won and lose in the spoiler part. You will have to do that too anyway Afterwards. So far there hasn't been any material that I don't find important.
The next thing that's put in is some polls but in spoilers. It gives you an option to vote on who you think will advance while not taking a whole bunch of space unless you open it. Why would you open it if you don't want to vote and besides you can always close it after you've voted so it never really takes large amounts of space.
The rest of It is just the list of casters, A link where you can vote on different LR themes and the Kpop section. Since I personally don't care about that part, I don't look at it but it's there for people who like to do that stuff.(all this stuff is on the bottom anyway so it's not like it's in the middle of the thread.)
What really makes his page so "hard to understand" or "too long" is his 2 pictures on the top since they are large. If you take those 2 pictures out your page and his page would be just long. The difference being he has added information that I find is important and you Have 1 section that you have drawn out by adding size 28 font titles.
Someone out there is probably gonna shit on this, but I gotta say really well played OP. You said Things needed to be improved, got in trouble for it and said fine, THIS is how things can be improved. I appreciate it and think if more people took the initiative to back up their complaints e-sports and so much more on the internet could improve very rapidly.

So you just think this guy is wrong without wanting to educate yourself even slightly to get the barest glimpse of his point of view? You're the reason we'll never see world peace. Though I'll agree that the options to select themes for LR threads is pretty nice.
