On the latest state of the game Steven Bonnell aka Destiny made an appearance for the first time. Everyone was thrilled, at least by the looks of it from the chat. Did I say everyone? I'm sorry I meant to say DESTINYKULT was thrilled!
Destiny could literally start projectile vomiting on SOTG and the chat would still go crazy with
"OMFG DESTINY IS SO SMART. DESTINY DROPPING THE KNOWLEDGE. DESTINY IS A GENIUS XD SO SMART. GOD OF ZERG~ XD" (these samples actually occurred, but not in caps-lock mind you):
The bizarre cult of personality he has created is mind-boggling. His fans embody everything that's wrong with the SC community. Lapping up every insipid quip that drips from Destiny's forked tongue like lobotomized mutts. It has gone so far that I start to question their psychological health in that they almost seem to take joy in the fact that Destiny farms them of money, even though he objectively provides nothing extraordinary during his streams in these recent times.
What's my point and how does this relate to the broader aspects of the Starcraft 2 community? My point is the danger in the collective bullying by his fans. His "drones" personifies the very idea of the mindless appeal to authority.
A word rose in popularity during this last decade in connection with brands and game-consoles, and word is fanboyism. That's what you are, fanboys. And from now on when we refer to Destiny fanboys, know that we should refer to them as Destinykult. Last but not least, Destinykult is incredibly annoying and arrogant.

Ummm this thread is pointless and probably will get closed. Kids these days....also don't BM a player that's 100 times better then you and is trying his best recently to be a competitor. Your just as bad as the " Destinykult"

I don't like Steven much,I loathe his fans, but what he said on SOTG is actually pretty funny and quite insightful.

Frankly you're just ranting and this isn't a topic worth much discussion. Everybody has fanboys and it is only a small group that will go to the extreme.
I myself enjoy watching Destiny's stream and I don't see myself falling under your so called category of 'Destinykult'

Wow, what an enlightening post. First of all Destiny has been on SotG before. And secondly the chat on that show has been godawful for ages. Thirdly: Every personality in the community have tons of fans that love that character. Day[9], IdrA, Incontrol etc etc etc (and by the way the day[9] fans are even scarier than the destiny fans).
Do you harbor some weird grudge against Destiny? Whats the point of this thread?
