Pictures say thousand words.... Epic moment ...laughed so hard^^
So actualy that means Vortex+Splash kills most armys?
I think u have these options (doesnt have to by my army):
A : Split forced = Could result in heavy looses B : Run into Vortex = See pix
Iam not complaining imbalance or something ... just a suggestion ... i still won that game But will they patch that out like they did with FF+Vortex+Collosi?

EMP > Mothership

that zerg was on 4 base against your 1 base natural, one of those bases being a GOLD.. so technically it was more like 5 bases vs 1. if he lost then that zerg is shitty and makes this strat irrelevant because of how shitty that zerg was.
if he won then its still makes it irrelevant.

Well if you won the game after such a blunder, I think it would be more fair to complain about Zerg macro mechanics than a supposedly vortex imbalance.

Killing your opponent's army with minimal losses is good regardless of how many hatcheries have been placed. Even if he ended up losing, he would have lost much sooner if he hadn't eliminated his opponent's army.
Please be more logical and constructive in your posts.

How many kills did that archon have in the end?

sure ill be logical. the zerg had a total of 5 or 6 hatcheries and he should have had atleast 1 queen at each one. if he had 4 bases (one of them being a gold expansion) he should have been easily able to macro up another army instantly. he is zerg after all.
no matter how u look at it it was still 5 base zerg to 1 base toss. and im not gonna be a douch and call imba seeing as PvZ is pretty balanced imo. but i still will call that zerg bad.

heh I never ran my flying units into vortexes (unless was like BC vs. Carrier) because I knew they could get away from the ground army and sometimes I could get a flank on the mothership. I never considered that stacking units could get owned by archons. I now know never to fly my stuff in there thanks! :-)
P.S. Off to try mass archon mothership strategy vs. terran mech!

Careful when running into a vortex, i guess; using infestors to MC the mothership might be useful, if not just fun.
Astounding to see how much damage 5 archons splash can do.

Im sry if i wasnt that clear ... i ment in general ...
If a T army gets sucked in ... its the same .... the outcome of this match doesnt matter at all!

I think most of you are missing the fact that he is the Zerg. He is saying that when a vortex goes down you either need to choose between getting your army split or getting splashed when it ends.
I don't think this will get changed, the forcefield one was just silly. Take preventative measures is all I can recommend.

i still feel the same. its way to easy to take out a mother ship. for terran all u need are vickings with there range 9. and zerg all u need is corruptors. u dont even need to engage with ur entire army. just use viking/corruptor to snipe the mothership FIRST then engage. there is no reason to send your entire army head long into a vortex like that lol...

are u always running with AA around? iam not

What would you have done as the zerg? Forget the rest of the game, just in that engagement. Enlighten me.
EDIT: with what the zerg actually had. none of that "i'll send corruptors" stuff.

Post a replay. Something tells me this was staged.
edit: Oh wait. Why did the protoss player wait a minute and a half between the beginning of the engagement and the vortex?

first off if i was that zerg i wouldnt have atked with pure ling muta, thats just stupid. he had 4 or 5 bases up, no reason to NOT have ultras. thats the main reason he got wiped. 2ndly i would have sniped the mother ship off before i engaged. mother ships are to easy to snipe off because of how stupidly slow they are. honestly, i dont know how anyone can loose to that if there not totally clueless.
