[H] Starcraft 2 lags sometimes

Hey

Since a couple of days i have trouble during sc2 games with very short "lags". I dont think that it is a latency problem. Its more like the game freeze every 10 seconds for one second and it seems like a sc2 restart can solve this problem.

Windows 7 64 Bit Ultimate
Amd 955x
Nvidia GTX 270
4 Gb Ram

Does anyone have same / similar problems? Solutions? Ideas? :-)

Edit:

Yesterday i solved the problem by setting the video property "Texture Quality" from Ultra to High.
I did that because i recognized the "Mouse over Tool-Tip". My Graphiccard does not have 1024 MB Vram

Maybe this can help other ppl.

I have no idea of a good program for that, speedfan has one feature for testing hard drives though, it may show something anyway.

Check your temperatures... the GTX 270 may be throttling for a bit to cool down.

I got this when i Play the 1 v 7 AI FFA

When the last player (zerg) massed to 200/200 and super expanded and ran all over the map, the game would lag like mad

I had to lower the settings to low and kill most of his bases before the lag disappeared

I think it might be the graphics card going berserk

I think i need a cooling system for mine =(

Well i searched the internet for heat problems with starcraft2. It seems that there is currently no frame cap in the main Menue and graphic card overheat during this endless rendering process.

Blizzard says it could temporarly help to change following values inside "Documents\StarCraft II\variables.txt".
=>"frameratecapglue=30"
=>"frameratecap=60"

Blizzard is working on a patch for this issue

Leave HWMonitor + Realtemp open while you play a game. You always want to rule out overheating first.

@swy - I think there was some talk that AI eating up CPU cycles (particularly if they have nothing to build with). Was that ever patched? I read that and the first thing I thought of, "Man - it would be nice if that kind of stuff was multi-threaded".

Hi,

yesterday i used GPU-Z (graphiccard temp monitoring) during i played a game. My Card never goes higher then 70°c and i think thats ok.

What is HWMonitor or Realtemp? Can HWMonitor check my hard disk for problems?

An example of HWMonitor:

It's just a quick, easy way to see all relevant temperatures. RealTemp is an app to provide more accurate temps for Intel processors, so you don't actually need it.
