First of all, here are the maps (LT, Metalopolis, Blistering Sands, Incineration Zone, Steppes of War, Kulas Ravine, Scrap Station, Desert Oasis and two 2v2 maps (one is Twilight Fortress, dunno the other one)). I managed to extract them via MPQ Editor! :D

My little tutorial.
Here's how it's done:
1. Find maps by using the search function in Windows and looking for *S2MA extension (make sure you've got "look for hidden files" option enabled).

2. Go to Tools > Folder Options, then click the View tab. Then uncheck "hide extensions for known file types".

3. Double click the S2MA file and edit the extension to SC2Map.
P.S. I'm a computer layman, sorry for the previous, unnecessarily complicated version and thanks to those who pointed it out.

Editor can read official maps with no problem, just change the extension of the maps so editor can see them.
|
Steps 1 and 2 should be omitted, and steps 4 through 10 replaced by the instruction "Rename the file, replacing S2MA with SC2MAP"
|
I tried that and it didn't work. I guess I'm just stupid. Sigh.
|
Hmm I noticed that editor will not open map if you double click it. But if you first start editor and then use open map option then you can open it.
|
Yeah, but it still doesn't see maps with tje extension SC2MA.
Codewarrior, how do you change the extension? I can't get it to work ;;
edit:
OK, at first I got an error when trying to load a map with changed extension, but now it works all fine. I feel stupid.
