SO I did eventually find the Flash interview and I did it because I thought it would be fun to please 2 of the largest fanbases in TL.
Maxim still asked retarded questions in this issue too but it's a fun read so just have fun guys!
So how was Vietnam?
▲ My expectations for the trip wasn't high, but it was the first time I got to travel so it was a chance for me to awe at the sights and learn. I got to learn many things and got the gold medal so my coaching staff was incredibly happy. It was a satisfying trip overall. One thing I remember the most was that we got into a car accident
Why are you healthy? (T/L: LOL WTF HAHAHA)
▲ You should be more worried about your guest (laughs)! It wasn't a big accident, but it seemed like the motorcyclist who crashed into us god hurt pretty badly. But then he just got up, dusted off the dirt on his jacket and rode away. I learned from the vietnamese people that motorcycle accidents happen alot here so not many people really find it a big deal.
You got a gold medal for Korea. Have you tried biting on the medal? (T/L: lolmaxim)
▲ Ofcourse I bit on it (laughs). It was pretty hard as my teeth mark didn't get on the medal. And it was pretty heavy too. Getting a prize in another country is a very different experience than getting it in Korea. I really wanted to show off my medal to others when I came back.
Foreign players have different skill level than a Korean player
▲ That's right. I think we were much better than them so I got to play fantasy in the finals. Until the finals I wasn't very threatened at all.
You got 100 Proleague wins in the fastest time with the least amount of games played. All your records are almost always followed by "Quickest." Alot of people call you a Child Prodigy, do you also feel this way?
▲ No I don't. I don't like the word prodigy at all. To me prodigy sounds like a person who was 'gifted' all these things rather than a person who earned all these talents by hard training. I want to be a player who can be acknowledged as great to everyone. And for that to happen, I must train harder to reach my goal.
Your recent record is no joke. With a "Force" like this you might even need to take a drug test!
▲ At first my practice session was lower than the average player. But when I got the feeling that my career might end instantly I started getting scared. So I started studying and replicating every terran user in the progaming scene. These days I am practicing so many games that I am very confident of myself. I think I play around 30 ~ 40 games on average each day. To make it easier to understand, all I do is eat and practice. Like bread and butter my teammates and I started synchronizing with each other alot more often which is why I think my team in general got alot better.
Since you are the 2nd youngest player in your team I guess alot of the older progamers feel like they're falling behind which is driving them to be better.
▲ Oh really? I'm not sure about that because people who come and visit our practice house know. They know that there are flames in the eyes of my teammates (laughs). That is why we are 1st place and I believe we can keep that spot
(T/L: Okay Flash is basically saying that KT's success comes from his teammates training hard so they have fire coming out of their eyes.)
The mood in our team is great these days. And since all my hyungs are doing such a good job I feel like I am finally the youngest player in KT now.
17 Win Streak in TvT (Currently 21 Win Streak), and your TvZ is on a 11 Win Streak (Win Streak is broken now). But your TvP seems a little weak.
▲ It's weird because I rose to the scene known as the "Protoss Killer." Although I do admit it is pretty weak, since it was my MU since the start of my career I believe I can find a way to get back on track.
Macro or Harassment? Which is better
▲ I love macro. I love management play so I am most confident in my lategame play. I love fighting in large battles and it is fun for me and the audience.
Most memorable match?
▲ My TvT with FBH. It was a lategame that time, but when I still think about even now I get chills through my spine. If I lost that game my team would've dropped out and the game went all the way until I had no other choice but to GG. But I kept holding my ground and was able to comeback from the game. At that time our team's score wasn't good so I had the nickname "Child Labor Terran" for a while (laughs).
Playing a game for 1 hour must really be a draining task
▲ I don't think the average audience doesn't know this, but moving at 400 apm+ and constantly switching your screen and looking at the minimap for an hour is NOT an easy task. Your hands start getting worn out and you start getting slow and stiff. Not to mention if you do play 2 games every day your whole body starts to ache. I really wish my fans and fans of esports knows this.
You are 17 years old and as far as I can tell nobody really believes that still. I heard your other nickname is "Very Old Kid"
▲ Yeah I hear that alot whenever I get interviewed. I guess because I debuted so early I hear stuff like this.
Which unit in starcraft would you be the most similar to? (T/L: LOL I CANT BELIEVE THEY ASKED THIS)
▲ I don't think there are any units similar to me in anyway. However there are units I really like. I guess I'll have to go with the goliath as it got me my first Win.
Who is your rival?
I don't think I'm good enough to have a rival. My goal was always go from Zero to Hero. However if I wanted to choose I would say Jaedong. I honestly feel like I lack so much compared to Jaedong but many people compare me with him so it's an honor for me. If I can win this year's league I think I will be able to get closer to Jaedong. However my ultimate and final rival would be myself. I want to get the the highest point and be able to keep that spot.
What is a goal you want to achieve in the new year?
▲ I am very greedy person. I really want to win every single league and be able to earn the "Best Player" award. I want to be acknowledged as the best in 2010
