Why is Flash cursed? I'm dead serious. Why? There is only one player that I think Flash would probably lose to in the coming MSL quarter-final, and two players I thought he had a 50/50 chance to beat.

Flash is likely to lose against Jaedong, and a match against UpMagic or Light would be tense. That means there are four potential opponents for him to meet up with that he would be the favourite to win (Jangbi, Kal, Nada, Mind), two that would be very close (UpMagic, Light), and one that would be very difficult (Jaedong). And he gets the bad draw.

A Flash history:
In his first ODT he draws a group with Bisu and Free in it, and he qualifies.
In his first OSL he draws a group with Light, Savior (when he was still good), and Oov in it, and he qualifies.
In the quarter-final he meets Bisu, and he beats him.
He loses out to GGPlay in the semis, the eventual champion.

So we get to the second ODT, where he gets Savior in his group again, and he qualifies again.
He meets Rock in the OSC semis, where he drops out.
In his second OSL he gets into a group with Savior, again, and Rock, again, and he makes it through, again.
In the quarter-final he meets Stork. He drops out again.

He qualifies for his first MSL.
In his group he gets Bisu, Nada, and Oov. He beats Oov, but drops out in two games to Bisu.

In his third ODT he meets up with Luxury, and UpMagic in his group. He qualifies again.
In his third OSL group he has Stork and Rock. He loses to both, but he goes through in the playoffs.
He goes through and faces Jaedong.
Flash beats Jaedong 2-1 and goes through to the Semi-finals to face Bisu.

He qualifies for his second MSL.
He has Free and Oov in his group again. He goes through again.
In the Ro16 he meets Hwasin, he goes through.
In the quarter-final he matches up against Jaedong, and I'm sorry to say but I don't expect him to beat Jaedong.
    Flash loses 1-3 to Jaedong.

In the GSI Flash is grouped with Savior again, as well as Anytime and Mind.
Flash qualifies and goes through to meet Jaedong in the Ro8.

How hard has he had it in the 8 months that he's been playing so far. And it's not that the competition is that great. There are always a few easy opponents. Flash just never meets them. Sigh.

Well, one of these times if he is able to overcome the greatest obstacle early on he should breeze the rest of the way. I don't think Flash is going away anytime soon, considering his age, and he is bound to post some solid results. But if he plans on being champion material he has to beat the top players anyway.

Rock is "easy" imo

u cant compare him to bisu, savior(when he was good) jaedong stork and those ...

but yeah, seems like he had it pretty tough, sea is cursed too right?

Dropping out due to TheRock doesn't mean you're cursed though, it means you suck.

In his first MSL he beat NaDa not oov.

I agree with you on the jaedong thing, poor draw for him but the same could be said for Luxury.

I don't think the former MSL champion being pissed off that you knocked him out of the last OSL is being cursed. :>

Also: speaking of players who have had tough matches, Hwasin has had it pretty bad: knocked out of the MSL twice by Bisu, beat by GGPlay in Daum, and Savior in GOMTV Season 1 MSL. All fairly early losses too.

Course champions beat good players. :p

Its called a bad series and it doesn't mean he sucks. Other than Rock, he has had some of the best gamers to play including the top three players in the game right now (Bisu, Stork, Jaedong).

Flash's performance has been damn impressive lately though. He's able to post such good results even having "no easy games." I'd say he's doing pretty well for himself

yeah I feel even worse for Hwasin
he always meets the best players who are at their peak lol (Flash for example, who's playing at his best)

Agreed. I don't think he has any weak match ups. His TvT and TvZ especially are very entertaining. I used to hate him because of his two cheese that knocked Bisu out of the OSL, but then I saw him progress and he has a great amount of skill.

How is he cursed? If you want to be champion you'll have to defeat the stronger players sooner or later, it's pretty simple...

Obviously Hwasin is more cursed yeah.

beaten by bisu 2 times when bisu was bonjwa mode, then by savior when he was bonjwa mode and ggplay when he was crazymode...
only thing missing was being beaten by jaedong in bonjwa mode now if he'd beaten flash.

thats much worse than flash's curse!

Hwasin does have the worst luck ever, he always has horrible circumstances

losing to eventual finalist god-mode Savior in GomTV1 MSL (2-3)
losing to eventual champion Bisu in GomTV2 MSL (2-3)
losing to eventual champion GGPlay in Daum OSL (1-2)
losing to eventual champion Stork in WCG Ro8 (after all that crazy seed crap)
his osl group is light/iris/july (rofl)
and now the loss to Bisu (1-2) where if Hwasin won he'd easily go to finals

So you want him to win a tournament through convenience of his bracket draw? Flash is good but if you look at him overall, he is really just another extremely solid Terran. Think of him as an Iris. He prob wont win an OSL unless he somehow manages to break through the glass ceiling due to his age(Whether his lack of wisdom or just his opponents having more confidence because he is so young).

I'm most impressed by Flash's recent displays of late-game management. I remember not to long ago he was thought of as primarily a cheese player, but he's been solid throughout the game, and his TvT is really impressive to me. He reminds me a lot of Upmagic, except maybe he'll eventually win something (sorry, I have no faith in you Up :\)

yea wtf. Him losing to them earlier doesnt make cursed. Trust me you'll be more happy when he wins and he raped everyone to get there. Then fluke drawed his way to cheese in finals or somethign lol
I may not be the best player right now but I think I can beat any 'best' players. I'll beat all the best players and become the best player. Watch me. - Jju

flash is definitely not a cheese player and he never was. he has a little something called balls which is lacking today in progaming. other than that he has extremely solid macro, micro and a sick early game. what was lacking in the past for him was his mid to late game decision making and management, and his finally starting to improve those

upmagic and flash are almost polar opposites
