Nukes outside the siege tank range kills the 1st rank. You just get the 10ish tanks that prevent anything to kill your ghost, and let's go. It's actually the best way to fight tank lines imo, cause you've 2 supply in a ghost, not 80ish in vikings/bcs. At least at mid master lvl it works perfectly. Just to gain the positional advantage.

Polt had the same number of vikings and an upgrade advantage, but the tech switch made no sense on Xel'Naga since he couldn't hold the ground against hellion harass and tanks which are too good on small maps.

I agree with BCs being bad vs. mech. Your opponent is using vikings to get vision and snipe medivacs anyways. I think Polt would have been fine if he stayed marauder and just put up a few starports incase TOP went BC Himself.

Imo he lost the game when he did is tech switch while he killed like 12-15 tanks 1 minute before. If he has replenish asap in bio he could have taken the gold expo.

I would imagine it isn't so good anyways because you would have to kill multiple tanks to be cost effective and i don't see that happening.
