Most lr threads are alright, most of the idiots get drowned out. Something about MLG seems to bring out enough idiots that they outnumber the sensible people. Twitch chats are just a barren wasteland of trolls and vitriolic assholes and should probably be prefaced with a warning about its brain melting capabilities.

And for shamelessly requesting partners etc. I guess it was more a thing of just being very bm and then posting on TL wanting to be practice partners with others with that kind of attitude.

he was requesting partners in the practice partners thread. nothing wrong with that.
he was banned because ares didn't like how he was treated on battle.net.
Dat mod abuse. Quick, go make a website feedback thread.
its weird to me that mods would take revenge on tl.net for stuff that happens on battle.net or any other website (assuming its completely unrelated to tl.net, and not, for example, someone abusing tl.net members offsite intentionally). it has precedent though. personally, i think its petty, but nothing worth starting a riot over.
edit: just to make clear, i dont know the backstory with chill's ban, so it may have been related to tl.net. ares posted his chat, and told us about it in irc, so there is more context.
I guess it's just that you don't want that kind of people on TL anyway, even if they haven't behaved badly on TL yet, you've seen their true colors and are banning them pre-emptively. 'Officially' it's wrong I guess, but logically it makes alot of sense to me.

drink that kool-aid. its not like tl.net has featured streamers abusing people even more seriously than what happened to ares, right? oh look, its idra with 4k viewers to my right, and im sure we can all name a lot more. its a double standard.

I thought IdrA was actually banned for some off-site harassment vs Chill though, right? He was banned for like 90 days. Plus, it's not a double standard, it's fully following the single standard of "this is our house"
If TL bans people for being dicks elsewhere, I don't see a problem with it. Also that guy was being a hyooooooj dick

It was something with him telling people on his stream to PM Chill and tell him he was a dick or something if I recall correctly.

that was completely related to tl.net--not even a close comparison.
i dont see how you think this is not a double standard. piss of ares on battle.net, get banned. piss off blazinghand, daphreak, other non-important member on tl.net, no ban. try it. send them a report with a screenshot of a battle.net conversation. see if they ban the person on tl.net. it wont happen.
if you are saying that because this is their house there are no standards (i.e., they can do whatever they want) then i guess i can see your point that there is no double standard.
at the end of the day though, the guy was a dick (although not ban worth in my opinion considering the bullshit you see on battle.net regularly), but bringing that shit to tl.net seemed petty. whatever, he isn't worth fighting a battle over.

Damn...someone has some pent up aggression against Sean. Wouldn't it be weird though if he ACTUALLY followed through with it and years later there is a story about some guy punching Day during an interview?

i wonder if first amendment lawyers fighting for the rights of racists to spout hate speech have the same feeling after winning an important Supreme Court ruling as i do now for speaking out on behalf of andaylin. he is the type of person i hate most about b.net and why i usually never say anything in games. =P

Oh Aeroplaneoverthesea,
There's probably not a single user on TL I hate more. I remember catching one of his first posts so I PMed him to tell him he had a cool username (it's after the song by Neutral Milk Hotel); I didn't get a response. Ever since then I have noticed his posts - though it would be hard not to because his negative comments draw so much attention.
