Let's be generous and say 50 points per game. So every round, the average points of the players goes up 50 points. This can keep on happening to B+ rank, until players hit A-. Only when they hit green does the pool lose 10 points. Since TSL people are almost exclusively playing TSL people, they are just adding points to the TSL pool. Theoretically a group of C- players could get up to high B+ like this. However F91 got up to A- from a much larger pool, what skill levels A/B/C/D really are on iccup, and not because of circlejerking points from other TSL members. Whether or not he deserves "mad props" is subjective dependent on the person, but I think it's pretty impressive. He has achieved a "real" A rank on iccup. this is common knowledge on tl.net. i think i may have even spelled out this same feature of the iccup ranking system myself some time ago. anyway you're just restating your position in different terms. yeah, i've already said that what deserves props is based on a standard. i said it'd be sad if all the cheap players have lowered the standard, such that playing normally deserves props. subjective, yeah. and since you seem to be new at this iccup system discussion, i'll repeat some more info that's been said 100x on tl.net already: real rank is achieved only by playing with the first wave of people at the start of a new season. the legitimacy of ranks achieved at the end of a season has always been doubted. especially the record is nearly meaningless. and as im sure you've realized by now, whatever is achieved while TSL is going on is also less meaningful, even if the player doesnt directly take part in the pinata of points. the effect is nearly impossible to escape there was a time when foreigners would play the first month of a new iccup or pgtour season hard, with no dodging of any sort, and not anonymously. that's when ranks gained meaning. since then, ranks have lost meaning in a dozen different ways: not playing at the start of the season, not playing enough games, not trying as hard as possible to win every game ("practicing builds"), not using motw, picking opponent based on country, picking opponent based on race, picking opponent based on map, picking opponent based on record, picking lower ranked opponents, using a 1-time-win build and not giving rematches, sharing accounts, playing during a special event like TSL, playing anonymously. . . there's a baker's dozen haha. if more top players played and avoided most of these pitfalls, we could get a sense of what ranks mean again.

People who only tough opponents = props People who play normally = no comment either way People who purposely dodge tough opponents = ??? i've used the word cheap but there are many different words people have used here...

The high ranks are rediculus:/ so much dodging but then again 10k might be worth it even IdrA is playing it safe now, only 1 win vs A koreans in the last 25 games and that korean is A- now with 50%ish stats. Edit: I frased that badly i guess since he's played other A koreans and lost, so not really playing it safe but more like have undeserved points. A+ legit nr 1 would have been so nice ill do it once the motw changes no point trying on heartbreak

He have proved himself SEVERAL times, which morrow hasnt Morrow has been playing for what, a year? that's like saying Kolll sucks because he hasn't achieved anything except WCG this year. Not saying he's better than inc or anything, just that it's a pretty stupid comparison.

I wouldnt mind losing 10 games to a single person in the ladder as long as I make it to the final TSL round of 16.. Everything else is just not of importance..
