to be honest, there may have been some bias going into this. he was one of the final straws causing me to make that "troll" blog and start banning for it, due to the below posts. this post history is damning enough even without "troll" for me to not let it slide. admittedly, this is a pretty harsh one. i don't think i would have 2dayed someone with a post history clear of calling people trolls. this guy had that history, and just made a post specifically to call someone pathetic. the rules here are enforced by a wide array of different people on a wide array of different people, so yeah how much leeway to give is up to a mod's personal interpretation. i think the mod staff would agree that this guy certainly didn't deserve any. | ||

It's funny, every time I notice someone being a bit of a jerk or flaming someone I always make a mental note of the name, and without fail they ALWAYS end up coming up on the automated ban list eventually, usually not for that particular post but for something. Another thing I've picked up on is that a lot of the banable offences aren't exactly horrible things by themselves but they are often the tell tale signs of a douchebag and banning people for them just seems to weed out the assholes or get them to change before they start doing worse stuff. The mods here do an outstanding job of getting rid of the douchebags before they become a problem rather than afterwards which is one of the reasons TL is so good, even compared to a lot of other heavily moderated forums. | ||

"The Automated Ban List" isn't actually the automated ban list, but discussion about bans people have seen on it. So sure it was slightly misleading, it's not CONFIRMED that it's the last OSL for SC1, but it very possibly could be as hwanni said. I do think that all TL mods and admins need to take anger management classes because they seem to lash out at people that don't deserve it. Reading some of Chill's replies in this thread makes me think that. The mods I think are a big reason why TL seems unfriendly to new users. New users get yelled at by everybody and made fun of by mods when they get banned for maybe not knowing the rules. But hey, I never actually go into the 'forum' section I only access the most recent posts usually from the home page, and the rules aren't listed there so maybe a lot of new posters don't know these rules. Most of them just deserve polite warnings and not 2 day bans with a snarky comment. TL seems unfriendly to new users because most new users are idiots. I'm a new user. I've been here for barely over three months. I've never had any issue with any of the staff or other members. People seem to think they can just come to a forum and post whatever they want and act like they own the place, but they can't. As long as you are intelligence, logical, and courteous you pretty much have no problem on being new at any forum. TL is no exception. Also, did that Anti-Pixar jerk get unbanned yet? Or is Toy Story 3 still being epicly awesome? | ||

lazz was just banned by BroOd. That account was created on 2009-01-23 20:11:48 and had 3109 posts. Reason: In my humble opinion you should spend less time being an asshole on these forums and more time acting like a grown-up with dignity and self-respect. Think I saw his last post somewhere too. | ||

He must have been previously banned to warrant a permaban, but I vaguely remember him being an ass and raging about terran imba in live-report threads just like Azure-eye was. Today he posted in a blog telling someone to "get laid more instead of bragging about AP classes" or something along those lines. | ||
