There have been threads about this in other places like here but I'm thinking about something slightly different.
G'day folks!
Just wanting to enquire about Starcraft 2 themed replacement keycaps - would you be interested in it? Something like I've seen before somewhere (but I can't find the pictures) - where you would have the icon for a SC2 skill on a corresponding key. For example if you were a Protoss you might want a Storm icon key instead of your T key. A Forcefield icon key on your F. Zergies might want inject as V, and so on.
Much like the gorgeous Teamliquid keys (of which I have 2!) I think they'd look snazzy and add some character to your keyboard.
Again, I'm just wondering if anyone would be interested in it, because I can talk to some people about it. This is no guarantee it can be done - of course there are factors like talking to Blizzard to get official permission for use of the 'trademark' and such - but like I said, I'd rather see the interest before I go to that kind of trouble.
If you have a "dream" of what you'd like to have as a key layout please do post that here too - keeping in mind that over-saturation of the custom keys would ruin the fun. But that's up to you.
Poll: Would you be interested in purchasing these keycaps?Yes (103) 67% No (43) 28% Yes - if this option was added (please state) (7) 5% 153 total votes Your vote: Would you be interested in purchasing these keycaps? (Vote): Yes (Vote): No (Vote): Yes - if this option was added (please state)

That TL keycap looks so cool. If I didn't have a laptop at the moment I would get one of those and everytime I pressed it my browser would open a new tab into TL.net. Hopefully in the near future I can afford an actual PC so yes, I am very interested in something like this.

You're interested in the SC2 skill keycap too right... not just the TL one?

Sounds like a good idea. I'd consider changing keys for FF and Storm at least. Maybe replace the E key with a keycap that has a probe and a pylon on it (although I'm not sure how good it would look being so small).

Yeah i think that would be cool, anything to make my gameing better and my gaming setup look more boss haha, i dont know if the icon is what is totally needed just a sharper color that i can see in the corner of my eye when needed, but nothing wrong with a cool logo that looks good either

If it came to it we'd probably only have one, getting complex with the printing on keys can make it a bit costly and from what I understand - difficult. I know this sucks because in some cases people might want to mix their keys, but the price we pay for having sexy keys I guess

Yes I am, I main Zerg, maybe something like Fungal for F. But I have time to think about this later on.

Would be cool, but I play on grid so every damn skill is on Z and X. All of them.
I've been debating whether or not to switch away from grid but I have too much muscle memory to really justify it imo. I don't really have a lot of misclick issues, it happens super rarely.

This could be p cool! I would definitely be interested in something like that :D

That'd be pretty badass, not gonna lie.

Yeah that's something that didn't occur to me... you grid folks (and other switch-layout style people) would be a bit left out... though I suppose you could still try and work something out. Obviously you could do something like purchase the keys, then put them in your keyboard as you saw fit. Could still work

I've seen custom made ones of these on reddit, but yes this is a good idea.

I use grid as well. The thing is once you've played enough you're probably not looking directly at your keys very often anyways (esp with grid layout) because the keys aren't moving. And with grid layout you can tell what key to use by the position on the little command grid thingy on the bottom right of the game screen. I think having them available would be nice. I could get a set and place them however I see fit. Note that once you've played a while the picture on the keycap won't affect your play much, I think it would just be there to make me feel like a nerdbamf lol
edit: I forgot to mention that I play on a laptop currently so while this idea is awesome I wouldn't be able to take advantage

This would look cool, but nobody actually looks at their keyboard whie playing? This is purely for cosmetic purposes, right? I can't really justify spending more than 2-3$/key just for the cool factor... and unless you're mass producing these, the keys will probably run higher than that...

Nerdbamf... I like that. I hope to see that more often :D

You're certainly right - that's why I'm looking at interest first. If it's only a small minority that would be interested I'll just leave it be, and I'd suggest those folks head over to Geekhack to get them. But if there is a fair interest in it I can talk to some people and see what we can do about a larger production and making it more cost-effective. Thanks for your feedback <3

10/10 would bang... wait, what? Yes, thats a great idea. My one concern is that I have lights on my keys ATM.
I would love to see - S - pic of SCV, E - pic of Probe, and D - pic of Drone. Also spell icons would be sweet, and even building ones since I usually hotkey the same buildings to the same number.
