What's going on
A 2v2 tournament for people to team up and try to kick each other's butts. All at the same time. There will be a lot of butt kicking.

Tournament Format

- Games before the grand finals: BO3 on Discord IV.
- Grand finals: BO5 on Twilight Fortress.
- Losers of the first game will always pick the next map.
Tournament Rules
+ Show Spoiler +- Each player is responsible for their own time/account at the netcafe ($4/hour or $3/hour with membership). If you run out of time in the middle of a game, it is an automatic loss for your team.
- Players must wear their name tags during the tournament.
- There will be NO walk-in sign ups. However, spectators are very much welcome.
- Players will check in from 12:00PM to 12:45PM. The tournament starts at 1:00PM and all technical problems should be resolved beforehand.
- No spectators are allowed in-game.
- Bad manners will not be tolerated.
- There are a lot of breakable doodads at the netcafe. You break it, you buy it.
Lag/Disconnect Rules
- If battle.net mass disconnects before the finals, all games will be replayed by default.
- If battle.net disconnects during the finals, the games will be replayed at the discretion of the hosts. A decision will be made with input from the audience.
- If there is an unplayable amount of lag on your computer, pause the game and ask a host to check the state of your lag. The game may be replayed if the lag is caused by the computer. Games will NOT be replayed if the player lags because they set the graphics settings to ultra/ultra.
How to sign up

This is a StarCraft 2 Tournament
The first thing you do when you walk in is check-in with me! I will be holding a blue clipboard and will direct you to where you need to go. It is vital that you remember who I am because I will be the main person managing the tournament as it goes.
All players must check in with me before they start their match as well as report the results to me after the match. That way I know when a match is in progress and know when a victor has emerged. If you report results for a game that I was did not know was in progress, the results will be scrapped and the series will be replayed
Do NOT be late
+ Show Spoiler +Check-in ends around 12:45pm. Make sure you are checked in with me as soon as you come in. Anyone NOT checked in with me by 12:45pm will be dropped from the tournament and replaced. Everyone on the back-up list is recommended to show up because there are always people who are late and you guys are the ones who will be replacing them. Even if you don't get spot in the tournament it is still a great place and opportunity to meet new players and make friends.

Aren't the OSL and GSL finals on the same day as this tournament? This might make it difficult for me as well as others to come if they want to watch one of them since those finals take place early in the morning.

More likely then not, If the finals are on that day, we might have a GSL finals showing there live anyways...so I guess if we do I can go to it, then sleep there, then wake up for the 2v2.

Some of the 2v2 maps you can't block the ramp (scrap station like ramp) and a double 6 pool is pretty much insta gg. I know a thing or two about 6 pooling.

yeah... doubleracing in sc2 is as dumb as it was in sc1
i played a lot of 2v2 since beta and since the game came out

I remember one game where it was double zerg and they both 6 pooled my friend. I told him on vent to save a worker, and i just sent him 400 minerals. I had enough speedlings to overrun one zerg and contain the other. we just expanded and took the entire map and won.

there was another friend that i did 2v2's with and what we did was go double toss. one of us cannoned and pooled money and just rushed voids.

mineral sharing and unit control is fine, all strats are fine (cheesy or not) however if one player d/c's the team forfeits the game
double racing will be discussed later on and we may or may not implement rules about races

Leaving defeats the purpose (and allows for a crazy early 6 pool), but sending minerals and gas should be allowed.
Still debating the double racing thing. Seems like it's only a concern for Z/Z on certain maps. Instead of banning double Zerg, we could review the map pool and limit it to the maps without huge gaping chokes (which, I think, rules out most shared base maps).

It wasn't that terrible of a showing, considering the matches would be cut in half since it's 2v2. Really good games, poke is op, nice to see you all again, and hurrah free sandwich.
