Hey TL! I live in Macon, GA and was trying to see if anyone from TL lived in Macon or anywhere in GA.
Would be nice to find some fellow gamers around my area and set up some lans or something seeing as I'm more serious and competitive about sc2 and other games then my close friends are lol
Zanaken.383 is my code in-game so just send me a message anytime or send me a PM on TL and see what we can get going =D

Here's a list of everyone so far that have given there character code and where they live. If we decide to do the GA vs AL tourney I'll use this kind of as a check list of who's in and out etc. For those who haven't given character code, just post it (if you feel like it) and i'll re-edit this post again =D
Yeah that's why i decided to make this post about GA gamers lol..Yeah a AL vs GA tourny would be cool! I wanna do local tourny's around here but the south sucks for everything except football lol
There's quite a few at tech. Though you could say they are purists and stick with the real game, broodwar! They have osl/msl parties which are pretty cool.
I go to GSU and live like 25 mins from downtown. I work in east cobb, are you in uni sentenal?

Yep, I go to KSU up in Kennesaw.
Actually, OP, I think there is one [former] SC player near Macon. Magnum, my old clan leader, lives down there, but he hasn't really played any BW or SC2 due to job/wife.
Afaik Gatech will continue doing MSL/OSL parties in the future. Which may not be that many more T_T. But for any major finals event, gatech will probably have a watch party for it. SC2 can be included despite the opposition of some of the gatech purists.
i live in Gainesville now. I used to live downtown by GSU with my girlfriend and was planning on xferring there from Perimeter, but now im at GSC. I'm from snellville/Lawrenceville area but have lived all aroung Gwinnett and Fulton / Hall. Cool to see people from around the area on TL. I hang out at tech a lot with a buddy of mine; i figured someone there had to play sc2. Anyways greetings from Gainesville!
I live in Ringgold, in the Northwest part of Georgia and I am probably the only TL'er in the area (Forever Alone!) But I have recently been accepted to Georgia Tech, so I may be able to find my true home there =P

hey i dont oppose gsl parties, i just wont organize them myself (because they'd be boring as shit) and all you fuckers are too lazy to do it yourselves
btw we are having a huge SC2/BW LAN tournament this week at tech (as well as a bunch of other games) called GT Gamefest. I will probably make another thread for it in a few days but everyone that can should come by and play.
I lived in Savannah for 5-6 years(high school and jr High) it was alright not the most exciting place but it was okay. I was a military brat and in the Navy so I've been around. For a single person the south sucks, it would be a good place to raise a family but for the single life it sucks balls. Yokosuka, Japan and San Diego were the best places I lived, even though both have some weird people. lots of good looking girls in the south but allot of people who are narrow minded as well. Worst place I lived was Norfolk VA.

same here. i was thinking how cool it would be to maybe try to put together a tournament. the student center has some badass PCs ive played on once or twice at the beginning of this semester. It looked like tere were a couple GSCers on this thread.

Nice, I work in East Cobb (Marietta) also.
We met once a long time ago at a lan qualifier for wcg or something I think at the discover mills mall? It's been forever...nice to see you doing well with EG now though, I figured you were in Canada at this point lol.
Also wow gamefest is this weekend ozzie? The games look pretty nice, I'm guessing the broodwar tourny is really smoothly organized now, any big names showing up? Hikari graduate yet? Who are the favorites?

hikari graduated like 2 years ago lol, same with RoO now. it's masterasia's tournament to lose.
I live in Jasper, GA. Approximately 1 hour north of Atlanta. ID is: KaiserW.386 Feel free to add me. I'll play some BW for old times sake, as well. Haha. It would be great to have more opportunities to meet up and game with the SC community, so if anyone wants to get together and organize a LAN party, start thinking about it, because I'm down. As i'm sure others will be too. It seems that many live a bit north of ATL, so maybe Kennesaw, Marietta, or Smyrna would be the most central? Possibly Alpharetta. Or even Atlanta. Ha. (I'll post another, more constructive, post, later; in regards to the LAN party.) (I just want to get together with local SC gamers. Maybe set up more frequent meets. With flexible locations. Going out on a limb though.) Very likely that I will attend the GT Gamefest. GL HF out there.

EDIT: added "..., as well." to second sentence. (Clarifying that I mostly play SC2 atm.)

If there's any way I can just bring my keyboard/mouse and not actually bring my rig, I'll probably play in this. Just too much work to cart that thing around..
I live in Stone Mountain, GA, but work for Emory University in Atlanta.
I don't play SC2 very actively though, and it is rare I am on the American server when I do (think it has been two months since I've logged onto that account). You can add me as Bluewolf.820 though and feel free to PM me if you ever organize a SC2 event in Atlanta.
Hey Zanaken, what do you think about Editing the OP to list everyone that has claimed to live in GA, in addition to listing their location, and if available their Bnet IDs.
Also, if everyone would help criticize my following suggestion: I would like to see a thread or something similar where the local SC players who are willing and available are able to communicate with each other to organize smaller (weekend) LAN parties. (2-4+ people) Other than peoples homes, I can't think of another convenient location atm. Although I'm not sure how that would work out, due to most of us being strangers. (assumed)
I suppose I can also see this not being viable in terms of distance?

Didn't work for me when I went like... 2 years ago? The person who was managing the BW tourney was a huge douchebag. At least back then it was bring your own PC or GTFO, in harsher language.
Hey guys, glad to see ya'll are posting. Moody, someone who did something similar to this thread, talked to his thread about a GA vs AL tourney and his thread was pretty excited about it so what would ya'll think about having one?
I live in Acworth (Cobb County) right on the border of Kennesaw and like 5 different cities I can put my address and social security number in too if you want
Alex.753 is my name and character code

I went to that place for a SupCom2 tourney. Pretty chill little joint - I liked the fact that I could get a beer and calm my nerves in between rounds. It's too bad that participating in something like that is basically a weekend commitment for me, since I have to drive 3+ hours for it. Maybe I can try to to make the next one.
Cool to see so many people from GA! I've seen the threads before about OSL/MSL parties at GT, but I never got around to posting in them.
I currently live in Conyers and go to Gwinnett Tech, so not too far from the ATL area. I'm considering going to the GT Gamefest if I can convince some friends to come with me. My dad's a Tech alumni, so I've always been a big Tech fan. ShivAn.549 if you wanna add me on bnet.
I think it's the release of sc2. There used to be like 3 GA TL'ers total back in the day, and then Ideas and other tech users, then it exploded.
If you guys are going to the GT gamefest for the first time it's pretty fun. It's a lot more organized than it was when it started out [ I went to the first 3 ] so it should be a good experience. I stopped going because the prizes starting to become pathetic and it was a hassle for 5 of my friends to all give up a weekend before finals [ seriously what is with their timing ] but we still have fond memories.

Apparently theres 2 VT members and an EG member going so plan to get your ass kicked huhuhuhuhuhu
Damn, looks like i better get my cheese... *ahem* mega-macro builds nice and tight. I'm gonna try to make it to this, since it's not too far from where I live.
Hey guys, the AL thread said they're up for a GA vs AL tourney and we would run it like a clan war. Wednesday seems like the best time for them so anyone who is interested in participating in it please send me a PM or post in here, thank you!

edit: K, so... I checked out the site... is there going to be organized tournaments? or is it Just a bunch of people getting together with their PC's to play...??
I imagine the lag on SC2 is going to be ridiculous.
If we get enough people onboard someone should make a thread in tournaments for this, if only for some good-natured trash talking. We'd probably uncover a few more GA/AL TL lurkers too.

Yeah that's probably a good idea lol Moody and I will create a thread in the Starcraft 2 tournament thread so later on today look for that in the tournament section. Sorry if this seems all jumbled around, first time i've ever posted on here or tried to organize something like this and i have finals going on too, hectic =( but thanks everyone for posting on here and getting this going =D
So, What's the situation with the GA Tech LAN party thing? Need update asap because if I'm coming I have to take half a day off work to make it on time.

Cool thanks. I'm thinking about driving in from Birmingham.
Would need a place to crash however, because the 3 hour drive back at 4AM would kinda blow. Anyone haz a nice piece of floor that could accommodate a fellow SC2 player and his computer?
If so, PM me, and I'll give you my facebook info so you can see I'm not some creepy stalker axe murderer or something.
Helen, GA reporting! quite a few players up here and a gaming lounge should be opening up soon in Clevland (by some friends). My Bnet ID is Tangless and I play a with quite a few guys from GA Tech. NGCSU grad myself.

Jake-Terran-Peachtree city/ fayettville area. Please keep this thread alive with updates ! I made this account just because I read this thread. Anyways I have been thinking about putting on a LAN party/ tournament. 5$ fee and all of the money goes twards 1st place. Tell me what you guys think !
One more thing ! I just found out there will be a small Starcraft 2 tournament in atlanta on the 29th (january 29th 2011) at a comic book store called world of Heros. Here is the link to the information I found. http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2132633
BTW I also have a self-run Ventrilo server that I would be willing to let Georgia people congregate on just so that we can practice and get to know each other. Kilralpine@hotmail.com if your interested

I'm on their email list, and I'm pretty sure they closed/moved...I'm not real clear on the specifics, but looking over the emails, it looks like the Alpharetta Highway location is closed and that they're opening up elsewhere under the name "Technoplex", but www.technoplex.com just redirects to the USGA website, and there's no info on there about it, so I'm not real sure what's going on with that.
Ah well, If we can get a few people organized ill consider hosting a little LAN at my place sometime... I have a few pretty decent PC's. Anyone wanna practice tonight?

i just called him. they are closed and "looking for funding so they dont have to do it with their own money". "when they re-open their new name will be TechnoPlex". this bums me out since im visiting GA and my mom's cpu can't handle sc2

PS sorry for double post MODS
Just looked through the emails again, and the text of the latest one is quoted below. Would probably worth it for us Georgia TL'ers to give him support.

Id be interested in it being a venue for possible future GA tourneys but I dont have the kinda $$ it takes to spend many a hour at one of these Lan Gaming places. Wonder if theres anything else we can do other than be potential investors...?

Actually looking for more gamers in general in Mid GA region or whoever wants to travel. Got a LAN party coming up to be hosted in Holiday Inn conference center just off I-75 and Arkwright. Date set for July 23rd. Came across this thread looking for a place to post our LAN party information.
Stuck in Macon this semseter. Going back to GA Tech next semester. Back in Macon next Summer semester. Back at Tech next fall semester. Back in Macon next next spring semester.
Myself, and my 2 best friends live in Forsyth and 2 of us go to North Georgia College. We would definitely be down for some LANs. We have participated in plenty of them throughout GA for other games.
im from marietta but i go to the university of alabama. i would be able to get some people together if you guys want to go through with the GA vs AL tourney thing. msg me if you want aZote.173
