That said, switching people around half way through a best of 3 is illogical. That's just increasing the number of switches for no clear gain. It would never be in the middle of a series If switches were to be mad it'd be after a certain number of rounds, whether it be one round or three or watever, that is yet to be determined

+ Show Spoiler + ![]() This way, players will always know which game's conclusion they are waiting for and for the first five rounds of play, will be on only one of two computers. After the five games finish, only 32 players are remaining, So there would be no conflict for computers. Then you just do games whenever both people are ready. This is how SSBM tournaments were run when there weren't enough TVs. It works pretty well while there are still >32 people in the tournaments.

If you pair off the computers, you can arrange games such that players will only have to wait for one game to get back on their computer. Say you have 32 computers available. Pair them into 16 pairs. then divide the initial 64 player bracket into 16 parts. Your logic would be awesome, if only SC2 matches were as short as SSBM matches. Its very possible and common for a single matchup to last well over an hour. This can be very time consuming and strenuous on the task at hand.
