I hope they update DO in time for the tourney

Uhh...TvZ autowin isn't a good enough reason?

And DQ is Terran Quadrant lol, close positions they can slow push to your nat easily, and Terran can get 3 bases free ._.

DO isn't that bad. Mutaling is strong, but Protosses just need to use Phoenix play which rapes Mutas. Terran is only hindered by the actually non-ridiculous rush distance, so yeah, I see nothing wrong with DO >.>

99.99% chance LT will be in map pool, 99.99% chance DO wont be, lol

DO was part of the map pool cause they had to pick a 9 maps so each player can eliminate 1 to get a BO7

Really the map pool doesn't matter cause no one is going to beat Never

I don't mind LT being part of the map pool but I would rather have Metropolis, Scrap station and Blistering

I see nothing wrong with LT either. Early roach play from Zerg in close positions is strong in ZvT, and cross positions allow Zerg to expand fairly safely. LT and Metalopolis are by far the most balanced Blizz maps out there right now.

Super cool to know that newbies like me can hop in. Whoo!

So any other specifics on the tournament? Is it going to be a best of 3's? Or a one rounder?

DO isn't imbalanced, it's just a really not fun and stupid map to play on.

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

its Bo1 until semi-finals, and then Bo3 till the end. if the tournament goes by quickly the finals will be a Bo5 but chances are thats not going to be the case

Unless something drastically changed that I was unaware of, like all the Zergs who ladder at diamond have LT thumbed down...

I support Metalopolis for Bo1s though...

Would be awesome if Crossfire was in the map pool. Not a ladder map, but an extremely cool/big map. I played it a couple times with a buddy and its really fun and interesting to play.

Care to elaborate? I'm honestly curious as to why.

Cliff abuse can get ridiculous at times, resulting in things like Madfrog hiding expansions every game to avoid their natural.

There will be BW players there as well. I know that Murderotica and Amnesia will be playing BW there. I'm tentative!

Regarding the map pool, there's just a lot of cliff abuse with LT and the natural with Reapers, Tank Drops, Auto-Turrets, Blink Stalkers all are good at harassing the opponent.

Map Pool: Scrap Station, Metalopolis, Blistering Sands, Xel'Naga Caverns, Steppes of War.

I think that is a fairly balanced map pool, unless anyone else have any other objections/suggestions?
Venture Capital is better off spent on lottery tickets rather than investing in E-Sports; you'll get a far better return. The difference is simple: Koreans are tryharding at the game, foreigners are tryharding in real-life.

I'd take LT over Blistering, personally, but that looks fine.

Thats only if you go straight for it. If you opened reapers into tank drop then its pretty hard to handle.

I don't have LT thumb down only cause there are worse maps.

What are the costs for joining this tourny? What about people who just want to spectate their friends playing? Seems like a lot of people will be coming. Can the place accommodate this many people?

Just wondering. OP hasn't updated in awhile. Thanks.
