Quite a couple of people have asked this in the thread already - if you scroll back a couple of pages you can read some responses. The general feel is no - It's generally accepted that people call everything gay, regardless of how gay it is. Of course you can see if an animal is gay or not, gay is about being attracted to the same gender, it's not space science. | ||

Are you trying to argue, that homosexuality is an unnatural development in humanity, because of chemical influences? The only influence i know of is that certain chemicals and plastic bottles can lead to an change in hormone levels in males. The Anti-Baby-Pill is especially dangerous consicdering that, because the active agent, survives even when released into nature by females, thus contaminating water. But this makes you more female(man boobs) but does not turn you gay. And chemicals in food like axcorbic acid, i would not worry about them. On the other hand homosexual males are believed to commit adultery with females, at least in the animal kingdom, which with lions for example leads to children, that are protected not by one but two adult male lions. Guess thats not that big of an advantage is it? Here you will find a list of Homosexual Animals. If you do not believe Wikipedia in itself, then just follow the citations, i dare you. | ||

Normal: conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural. Gays evidently don't conform to the standard or the common type, and they're not 'usual' like heteros are. But it is also normal in that it's natural (as evidenced by the presence of homsexuality in the animal world). Really what R1ch says is correct. Lefthandedness or green eyes aren't 'normal' either, but it's totally irrelevant. Starcraft 2 players are much less 'normal' than homosexual people. | ||

Plus all the queers seem partial to WoW and I dont play that anymore. 3) Gaydar does exist, however its not an internal measurement type thing - its just your experience telling what signs gave way to the flashing red queer sign. Or they play cause their bf's do which means they probably suck and want to hang out with their bf's anyway I play with my bf but i dont play CAUSE of him. I play cause i like to kick ppls ass. Normal for me in this context is synonymous with what the most common trait is amongst the population. Brown eyes would be normal in the same way that heteros would be normal. Do people use that to demonize gay people, lefties or whatever? Yeah and that's really shitty. It doesn't change the fact that such things are atypical. I don't think he's wrong on that count at all. What he's talking about in the first graph is a matter of semantics. Not being normal isn't necessarily a negative connotation. I see nothing wrong with that. The ones that are usually masculine are straight, and that doesn't benefit you (like it would in real life) because you're not looking at them, you're looking at their typing (I love hanging out with hot straight dudes, even if i will never get with them/hit on them). But for clarity, this thread was never intended to be a cruising ground for gay nerds, it was meant to put forth information that people (both gay and straight) might be interested in, and to allow gays to be aware of each other so they could form a community if they choose. I joined a co-ed gay soccer league 2 years ago, and it really sunk home how important it is to belong to communities that you identify with. While "sc2" is the common hobby between players playing the game, there are other factors in choosing who you surround yourself with in the game (ie: not every sc2 player is friends with every other sc2 player). As far as gender goes, sc2 has a fairly limited pool of people to play with, which is why it * Aside from differences caused by being individuals, do you find that your relationships with each gender are different because of your gender? Do you act the same way around girls than you do with guys? Do you have a preference of which gender you like to hang out with more? I was going to attempt to describe why these groups 'feel' different, but that's not really possible. I have a very large group of straight and gay friends, and the people i will want to hang out with in sc2 are players of my skill level (cause i play games competitively) and people that make me laugh/enjoy myself (ie: all my old sc/bw friends). But, to repeat myself, after joining the gay soccer league and meeting this other community, I can't imagine not belonging to it, and wanted to provide that opportunity for gays on tl.net that might not have another avenue for creating one. | ||

Well this takes a lot of writing to explain. Let me start like this: in this day and age, it is very trendy to be a full blown liberal and an atheist / moral relativist. A lot of this has to do with the facepalm travesty of organized religion and the (wrongful) notion that a presupposed order of things, or call these "morals" if you have to, can only be based on religion. This leads to a general philosophy of "everything is relative, and dandy and equal without any absolute standards" with the exception of intolerance to anything. How intolerance can be inherently wrong within a philosophy that bans any inherent absolutes is something I can't really understand. I personally do not believe in any of these things, although I am not religious nor do I follow any social doctrine. I just think that there is an order in all things which is very easy to see if you are not clouded by ideology of one kind or another, and I consider this order to be very important because it's about the only thing you can hold on to if you don't want to be "religious" but still desire some kind of sincere belief. Day is day, night is night. Men are men, women are women. I like men to be manly and women to be feminine, because that's just the way we are, and there's something really cool about it. You can theorycraft about socially constructed gender roles and such and such for years, but in the end boys will be boys, and girls will be girls, and then there will be the confused people and they are completely ok, too, as long as they don't turn their penis envy into a crusade. What I don't like is the way the gay and radical feminist (in my book lesbian) agenda has been attacking this notion from all sides, demanding all gender lines be erased so that they could fit into the norm. It's blurring the line between women and men and some of us don't want this line gone. This is clearly reflected in your very own examples. Green eyes and being left handed is not what gay is to sexual orientation but what "I like big breasts" or "I like small breasts" is to sexual orientation. Being gay is more like having hooves in place of feet. I'm sorry the sidewalk isn't too comfortable for your hooves but please don't start changing the sidewalk for the rest of us. | ||
