hi TL!
my name is Ray and I was lucky enough to win the TSL raffle for a trip to the OSL finals :D. The lucky person I'm taking is my gf  I am not trying to brag about my luck but just want tell you a bit about myself and thank all the admins at TL for making this possible.
I grew up in Vancouver, BC, and im a phd student in physics (how typical of asians haha) at UofT (Toronto). I played SC ever since it came out and i was a guru at making UMS maps lol. I got hooked on the korean scene when I started watching Klazart commentaries on Savior and became a huge fan since and joined TL. Lately i've been too busy to keep up to date with the scene but I still read TL everyday.
I've never been to Korea before and haven't been to Asia for 15 years so I am really excited about this trip.But I don't know anything about Seoul, so if you guys have suggestions for where to visit, where to eat, markets, clubs, dos and don'ts, and how to get a good seat for the OSL! that would be great! If anyone is in Seoul and would like to meet up to go see the finals, that would be great too!
Also I'm thinking about giving something back to the community like getting some proleague merchandise, can someone tip me off on where to get them?
And i want to thank manifesto and MrHoon for helping me alot with the travel details, you guys have been really nice! I will keep posted and make a blog when I get there.

Congrats OP. Like what Bosu said, I'm glad someone with such a passion for SC like you won it!
As for tips, there are lots of threads on Korea trips around. My recommendation is to not to over-emphasise watching SC while you're there. I guess with your gf with you, this probably won't happen anyway, but if it was me, I wouldn't bother doing anything SC-related apart from going to the OSL finals. The OSL finals are the most impressive and this Korean Air OSL seems particularly so. It will completely blow your mind and going to watch SC in the normal studios will be a huge disappointment.
I don't know how long you are going for but I wouldn't spend too long at the typical tourist places (e.g. the 4 palaces, Namdaemun market, Insadong art street etc.). Instead, be adventurous and just walk around by yourself. Korea is extremely safe and getting a taxi at any time of the day is cheap and easy. Good places to do this include Sinchon/Ewha university, Hongdae, Daehangro, Gangnam, Kongkuk university. Also, DON'T go to Itaewon. Just don't.

@OP pretty sure you wont be able to get any merchandise, its somewhat complicated.

haha, actually mani let me get the hotel myself and the hotel chill picked was unavailable for those days so I went with another one i found on agoda. but I that one looked pretty good too!, thanks chill!

haha wow, congrats =) absolutely dead envious that you get to go see Flash in person... albeit he'll be a really tiny person from where you'll probably be standing/sitting, haha, but it should be HUGELY fun!!! If you need any help in Korea, I'm sure TL will always be here to help you out!

most important thing in korea is to buy subway cards since subway system gets you anywhere down there. The greatest part about Korea is that bottles of soju are a dollar, make sure you drink it while it's cheap! Enjoy you're trip!

If you're looking for a clean, modern (LCD and free internet) and affordable hotel at a good location I recommend Doulos Hotel (about 80k-90k a room a night)

I live in southwest Seoul near-ish Hongdae (one of the funnest places here). Send me a PM if you're trip isn't already packed with activity. I'll be missing the OSL finals because I'm going to a hardcore show I've been waiting on for 3 months, but I still might change my mind.
