i did that just a few days ago! I'm hilariously awful at dota... but this was one of those moments you knew it was a bad idea but it just felt so right you had to do it... don't know how to describe it.

My best hook was hooking a leaping potm. It was bugged though; potm got hooked to my location, then resumed the rest of the leap animation, conveniently out of dismember range...
I saw an Obsidian Destroyer two nights ago who got a bloodstone. If you need it to be explained why OD is hands down the worst int hero to get a bloodstone on, consider that although, yes his Orb attack is based off of mana pool, his real carrying capacity comes from his ult, that can teamwipe just about any composition if you stack it right.
Instead of doing 500-1500 damage to every enemy hero he hits, he would be lucky to get 500 damage on their AGI carry.
Not to mention the mana regen from a bloodstone or any other item is almost worthless because OD already has infinite mana with level 4 of his aura.

had a really fun game as veno (I'm new but he's always good anyways) and out comes rubick pudge hook out of nowhere to own me; just pretty fun overall. Also fun later when rubick wanted to steal my just used ulti but stole ward instead.
Tide lanes with me, as Riki, keeps pulling without even stacking, right when they're at our tower. I get tower dived by BH and VS and die, 3 different times, because he keeps doing it even though I tell him not to. Then he blames me for being bad. And decides to AFK when a Ravage/Blackhole combo could've teamwiped and gave us a comeback I do not like playing in dual lane pubs.
I only play with friends that are competent because I run into things like laning with a Riki who starts boots only (no tangos etc) and proceeds to feed the enemy team.
I personally don't see why people play AP unless they are just running as a 5man. It is VERY common to run into trolls and bad people in AP, because of that I ONLY play -CM (with friends) so that we can create a team comp focused around pushing, team fight, late game, etc. The only difference is we ALWAYS have someone like tide on our team so that there IS a reliable stun as well as picking carries that have some form of CC such as DK (I do not consider spirit breaker to be a carry, he is the biggest troll hero aside from alchemist) or Mirana. Our general team comp looks something like this: Jungler (Furion), Mid (Death Prophet), Solo lane (Dark Seer or Wind Runner), Support&Carry lane (usually Tidehunter + a dragon knight or something like that). Gives us excellent pushing power from the double prophet (a level 2 death prophet ult can take out a full HP tier 2 tower), team fight (tide + the stuns from WR and DK as well as the silence from DP), and ganking potential (lvl 4 passive DP moves pretty quick and you have a tree-man to pop in and gank). That right there is what a general team comp should look like and that is why -CM is MUCH better than -AP.

CM is terrible unless you're stacking with 4 friends because if you get a bad captain, or two people who argue over the same hero on your team, it's pretty much gg right from the start.
And the people who play CM are generally just bad, because the only people who put up with CM queues are (bad) tryhards who think they're too good for AP because they watched a pro game once and the only way to play dota is to attempt and poorly mimic what they've seen in pro games.

I played CM once. The captain drafted Skeleton King, took him, skilled aura first, got killed, got killed again, blamed the rest of the team and quit. I swore to never touch that mode again, unless I'm queuing as a stack of 5.

Or CM is for people who actually want to have good games. 90% of my games in CM are good games on both sides where it comes down to just a minor mistake here or a better pick/ban. All you have to do is be NICE to people you are playing with and communicate with them. One of my friends is a dota2 caster so that heavily influences the mode we play, but the last few times I have played AP it has been like everybody's QQ in this thread. "Everyone picks carries, steals farm, feeds, etc". Once you started getting a good W/L ratio you play with the better players that know what they are doing in CM. Sure we may get the russians or the brazilians every now and then, but working out a team comp is much easier to do when you are nice to the captain, otherwise you get stuck with omniknight because you want to play PA, PL, Riki, Spectre, AM, or BH and none of them fit the team comp very well.
I put up with the CM queues for a better quality of gameplay over RD SD or AP. Call me a tryhard all you like but as a competitive person, I do not like losing because my team goes full derp and picks AM, Spectre, BH, and Riki or think that Spirit Breaker is a carry. All of them require a ton of farm, Spectre is terrible, BH and Riki are both shut down with a gem/wards.
The way I see it, unless you're queueing for CM as a 5stack, you risk either having to draft for your team but not have a clue how to draft/have people disagree with you/etc etc, or having a captain that doesn't have a clue what he's doing either etc etc.
Playin my solotop... Things go ok but well, not much i can do.
On bottom we got PA/Lich and PA gets ~3-4 easy early kills. Few minutes later (PA still getting kills) the other teams Bloodseeker also gets decent food.
Now i think: "well, doesn't matter.. 5-0 PA will just rape this game anyway".
Click on PA: Phaseboots --> Vlads --> (and at about 30 minutes) Broadsword and Shadowblade reciepe.
I don't know why people think Shadow Blade is such a good item. There are TONS of better items for carries than that piece of shit. Sure you get the extra bonus damage for 1 hit and you get to troll with the invis (until someone gets a gem/dust/wards) but what good does the item actually do for you?
Also, PA rushing phase boots and vlads before a battlefury makes me laugh.
so how long does it take to get to a lower pool... playing with my friends and their terrible and our opponents are so much better then them. 15 losses for each win gets old...

It's even worse because there's a bounty hunter in every other game. I wanna kill a hamster every time I see my teammate LAST PICK choose bh....
