Please remember that while this thread is for QQ and venting about the game, racism is not tolerated here on LD. |

can't wait for the game to be released so i could get my levels up and never play with such noobs... Matchmaking works, you're getting matched with players of roughly equal level. If you lost, your invoker wasn't flawless. You absolutely do not always get matched with people of your skill level. More often than not, there are large skill gaps between several players in each game.
That may be so. Maybe I worded it badly, you're getting matched with players of roughly equal rating, rating doesn't necessarily translate to skill, however.

I think I'm addicted to Dota 2.

If i afked every game Id probably win about 90% of the games I currently win ;/

Matchmaking does not work .

^^ Agreed. it's very hit or miss. Even on comewithme's stream he had some pretty noob players playing with him on his team, who didnt know what they hell were doing, which lead to a lot of frustration, and they eventually lost the match.
But this maybe because a lot of people that got into the beta were totally new to the game. They dont even know how to use the courier or deny a tower.

I think matchmaking works pretty well if the goal is to keep you at around 50% win rate....so far my winrate's hovering around 60%. It seems like when I win a few games in a row I end up in a game with higher level players vs my team being full of noobs....system taking me down a notch. Likewise when I lose some I'll end up in a game where the other team gets stomped.

Lost my temper today, quite disappointed in myself. Had two Russian players that only spoke Russian, and did not respond to questions or calls. By 20 minutes, both had racked up 8 deaths each. A friend who I queued with started using google translate to translate what they were saying(as some of it was using phonetic Russian instead of cyrillic), and it turned out they were fighting with each other over who was the better player.
I was annoyed, extremely so, but I kept playing, until we were 30 minutes in and they were now on 11 deaths each, with no sign of progress. At this point, my friends and I just start dying as well because our opponents are so heavily overgeared. And then, at the end, when we see our ancient going down, Sniper exclaims it was my friend playing Windrunner's fault because he didn't gank enough. So not only does he put the blame on the one person who'd been getting us the few kills we had gotten, he also shows that he's capable of English and simply refused to respond or listen to us when we had been making requests/calls.
I left a rant with swearwords and left the game, before me and my friends decided to call it enough for today. I really lost my temper, and I did not think I'd ever actually get this far to being annoyed at people in a game.

Lovely people play tonight. Its strange, because so far I rarely met BM, but now everyone on my team is flaming eachother from the start of the game. It was nice, they insta-picked 3 carries, bara morph and weaver, and then said "pick some supports and tanks". So the fourth picks lycan, and im like, ok... So i get lina. The flaming began at the first minute, i don't even remember why, lycan vs weaver vs bara. Whatever... I think there should be a different queue for these people. Of course I muted them, and its nice and quiet now, but still we are probably losing because they got so angry at each other, that they can't play the game...

worst inventions ever: "ingame voicechat".
Has anyone ever had a random-pub game where that thing had any use? Does anyone know anyone that is actually using it? It's like "instamute" as soon as i see the icon pop up...

And this is why I don't queue Europe. On topic though, once you get to high mmr you often bump into people you know, so yea people do use it.

I guess you're one of those people that doesn't recognize DOTA as partly a strategy game...

This is pure QQ but here goes.
I pick Kunkka, my favourite hero. I ask everyone if I can go mid, they say ok. So I go mid and I'm up against a bloodseeker. I already know this is a terrible lane for me, torrent damage does not even matter as he can gain life back faster than I can take it and at level 6 I'm pretty much free food. I tell my team it's going to be tough and they should probably gank bloodseeker so we can shut him down, I get 'LOL U CALL MID THEN ASK FOR GANK NOOB'.. No matter, I'll just keep last hitting and play safely.
Level 6 is coming soon, must buy a TP and courier it out to me or else I won't be able to leave tower. Yes, TP's are bloodseekers weakness, and as much as I don't wanna trade 135g for his ult, it allows me to still farm somewhat safely and assures I won't die. Press courier hotkey, realise no one bought courier, fml. At this point I know I'm fucked, I try to play safely but he silence then ults me, I don't take any movement damage but his right clicks (due to the fact he had a courier ship him a PMS and wraith band) actually hurt and I die.
After that prophet is ganking me, bloodseeker is getting fed, my team is flaming me and feeding hardcore themselves. I feel helpless and sorta go into a 'whatever' mode and end up feeding a few more deaths. I'm 0-8, our team is something like 2-25.
So I'm in base minding my own business when pudge decides to take issue with the fact that I'm level 8 and don't have my ult yet. I tell him that in my opinion I usually like to have 2 points in X marks the spot, 2 in torrent and max tide bringer first, because ult costs a lot of mana I don't really have and having the 2 points in X allows me to reliably CC. At which point a prophet on their team laughs at me saying 'LOL U NEED X MARKS TO HIT TORRENT NOOB'.. I try to tell him that no matter how good I am with torrent it's easily dodged but my words fall on deaf ears.
I'm told that I'm a noob and he's good at the game because I have 0-8 and he has 7-0. I tell him that matchmaking games don't really mean anything and that I was 14-1 last game and I didn't care just as I don't care that I'm 0-8 in this game, deaf ears again. And the game ends with russian words all over my screen.
I don't know, disheartening I guess. It was bad enough to make me exit dota, QQ here and now I think I will sleep. Goodnight TL <3.

Yeah I dont know anyone who has enough tolerance to leave that on. Even when a good player uses it, 90% of the time it's just rage or they have an annoying hillbilly voice.

Played with a Rikimaru with got SnY and Basher instead of Diffusal, and kept taking runes when I had bottle to refill (he even took an invisibility rune, just what the fuck). He jumped into battle against the entire enemy team when only 3 of us were there. I was playing NS and didn't follow as we would have gotten destroyed by the enemy team. He died and then proceeded to blame me for not helping teammates.
I told him to get Diffusal and he insisted that Basher was good /facepalm
In the end we lost the game (enemy team had better picks, more aoe and initiators whereas our entire team was single-target) and then he flamed us for being noob and starting trash talking about his k/d, when I was involved in pretty much every kill he got with him just happening to take the last hit, lmao.

something I've noticed recently regarding to voicechat, is that US players use it much more then Euro players, maybe because EU players never can surely know they talk to someone who understands you, and when a EU player uses it, it's mostly in their motherlanguage against a friend...
sometimes I envy US players (mostly) only having to deal with English speaking players... :p

Yeah, when ever I am queued for euro, I never have anyone use it. I myself only use it when others do. I think the gross majority of the times have been positive. Usually I get friendly people where we just end up having fun (and end up adding each other to friends). Like today, I had a match where I had first kill, destroyed top lane, and broke out laughing each kill I got (I was venomancer).
I sometimes get Russians to rage or spam voice (when no one responds in Russian), but that is why ignore is added. It can get annoying but so long as there is mute, I do not mind.

Anyone noticed that ever since the "randomly picked X" message as appeared at the beginning of games, more and more people play random. Such a retard tendency IMO. It's like everyone basically thinks: "Hey, now my opponent knows when I'm playing a hero there's 90% chance I have no idea how to play, let's do that all the time, feeding is so much more fun" ...
It's really a stupid behaviour. I used to play All-Pick and Captain mode, but I'm seriously considering dropping all-pick games to play captain mode only, even if it takes longer to find a game.

I'm not a person that rages a lot, but after almost 600 dota 2 games and 10k+ dota 1 games I feel like huskar is the most stupid and annoying piece of shit that ever existed on this planet. Its amazing playing against him in competitive games with tp support and an organized team, but on pubs... man....this hero....so....stupid..arg.
and normaly ppl who play huskar are dicks 70% of times..
