I've been leaving so many games recently because of this shit, why are people so god damn dense? It's not the end of the world. If you get upset over a small little thing, then dota's probably not the game for you. I was stuck out of exp/gold range as our team's hard carry, against Clinkz who was getting free farm. I got ganked twice because Axe was sitting at mid for some reason, and nobody decided to ward either rune, so we could see if/when their mid got a rune. It's not the end of the world, it's fucking annoying. And if they do it within the first 5 minutes of the game I'm leaving, because I won't get an abandon. If you're the one who left, then you're getting an abandon even if it's within the first 5 minutes. I'm not sure if you know how the abandon system works. ??? You're the one who doesn't know how the abandon system works if you think you don't get one in the first 5 minutes. First player to leave always gets an abandon, unless the other 4 players on the same team also all leave before the abandon timer (5 minutes) runs out. It doesn't matter when you leave, whether it's at the start of the game, or near the end. You still get the abandon. What you don't get is a loss on your record, if you leave before first blood/tower down/5 minutes, whichever is first. If you leave after fb/tower down/5 minutes, you get both the abandon and a loss and your team gets a loss, if they lose. If they win, you get an abandon, while they get a win. I'm pretty sure I know how it works. I leave games regularly before the 5 minute mark if our team comp is retarded (Left one this morning when we had Void, Ursa, Weaver and Invoker, and the last guy picked Lycan) I left the Sniper game, didn't get an abandon. Left a game as Earthshaker last night in the first 5 minutes, no abandon. You might want to check your facts before acting like you know something! You're still wrong. You didn't read my caveats, which would possibly explain why you didn't get abandons. If someone else abandons before you (disconnects and clicks "leave game"), they get the abandon. Also, if you leave that early, it's likely the rest of your team left immediately afterward, thus preventing the game from even being recorded. If nobody leaves, you would have gotten an abandon.
No, I always leave first in those situations. I hit "leave game" immediately, there is no 5 minute abandon wait time. I know how it works, I have 7 abandons total, and 6 of them came from my power/internet cutting out.

I'm impressed how you can be this self centered. You further trying to argue the abandon rules against solid evidence is proof of this. If you're unlucky, it can take up to 15 minutes to find a game, and then some douchebag (in this case you) decide to leave right away cause "didn't get first blood". Its even worse when you leave because "support didn't stack".
I understand the frustration of playing with semi-retarded people very well, I deal with them in 98% of my games as well. But try to look at it from their side. By leaving early you are purposely screwing over the other 9 players in that game. If it was 20-0, you had 0 deaths and everyone was yelling at you for doing what you're suppose to do (has happened), I'd understand it. But because "I died a couple of times in lane"? Comon.

I don't care if I don't get first blood, or if I lose in a game with decent teammates that actually contribute to the game somehow. Infact, I prefer games that are really close where my team has to struggle to win/lose.
It's quite easy to tell when the game's going to be more of a frustration to play for the 20-40 minutes that it'll take to finish it. When the game's going to go that way, I leave instead of having everyone's time wasted.
It's easier to wait 5 minutes in queue for a game than spend 40 minutes with an idiot on my team ruining the game for everybody. I don't care if that's being self-centered, I don't want to have to deal with people that clearly don't know what they're doing, or are trying to ruin the game on purpose.
Bear in mind, I'm in high/very high mmr. These types of games don't happen often, nor should they, which is why it's especially frustrating getting idiots on my team.

Just because your ally didn't "pull properly" is grounds for leaving the game? Is it causing you irreversible harm that guarantees a loss? Who's the idiot on the team ruining games for the everybody and wasting their time?
If I ever see you in game, I'm soooo gonna fuck with your farm.

Do you even understand the implications of not stacking before pulling? It was a 1v1 lane with the two hard carries, if their hard carry (Clinkz, who has more mobility AND damage than sniper) gets more farmed, then yeah. The game's basically lost.
He indirectly pushed the lane, because his pull only killed one creep, when it should have killed at least two or three. It completely ruined any chance of farm I had.
You must be new, eh?

I spent a good 10 seconds facepalming.
That pushing of the lane will reset in a short while. Even if the position of the wave eventually stabilizes away from your tower, it's not the end of the world. That's what map awareness and wards are for. Does that assure a loss? Well yeah, because you left the game.
I think we found ourselves the 5th person to round up the allstar TL Dota2 team.

Not sure if I understand this correctly but this guy rage quit because his support didnt pull correctly? You'll never ever get into any proper team with that attitude. Mistakes happen all the time, its the better players that understand their teammates are only human and can adapt to the situation.

had a huge midgame lead despite bloodseeker feeding as if he's on masterchef, axe and bloodseeker get cocky as hell - start fighting 1v5s by themselves
sigh we lost of course, and then the shittalking by Axe saying how his team is "shit retardded noobs why am I stuck with idiots"
opened BS's profile, 77 wins - I legit think he just trolled my team. No way someone with so many wins feeds like that.

Do you honestly think that a game in such a low skill level that people doesn't know how to stack before pulling, that there is NO way to decide the match afterwards? Apparantly you play at such a high level that no one ever does mistakes, as such you can't recover from such a terrible blow..
Please, listen to yourself. You are what everyone else in here hates.

I understand your mindset and I often fall victim to it. However, you're wrong. What is definitely bad play in high level dota, like messing up a creep pull is not as big a deal in a pub. Pubs are fucking bad even at 'very high'. Almost everything can be overcome by being a better player and there are so many throws back and forth that minor issues like lane positioning rarely make the end all difference. I know it's really fucking annoying though and as I said I often rage over subtle things like this and QQ that the game is over but it rarely is in Pub dota. Leaving games in dota is pretty much a mortal sin and never really justified.

On October 03 2012 14:56 Goldfish wrote: Well just came from another game with QQing team mates. QQ is my ultimate weakness in this game actually (first I stop having fun, then I slowly stop caring about winning). Yeah, QQ resistance is a good skill to have but I'm not great at it.
I honestly really want a 1v1 mode where you control all five heroes at once (with each separate gold pools, no pooling one items on one hero, so you have to farm for each hero individually).
You'd still probably 2, 1, 2 lane with all heroes like usual but you control them all at once (which may sound hard but you can let them auto attack at first while paying attention to minimap, etc).
Finally a lot of people sometimes don't get the concept of support. Obviously if you play a pub stomping carry every game, you're probably going to have a good score but some heroes just aren't meant for that (plus, playing them all the time is boring). Also when you get ganked by 4-5 heroes, you don't QQ a teammate who can't do anything about it (I guess I can go in, try to stun one, hope their whole team misclicks and hope I don't get killed).
Not that I'm saying I'm the best Dota player or I'm above average (I'd say fairly average enough to be able to pub stomp with pub stomping heroes if needed) but I'm really disliking pubs.
When I started Dota 2 (I guess do to how match making matches up you with players with similar game count or something), I got into games where everyone treated each other well. I thought, wow! What an improvement from WC3 Dota!
Of course as I played more and more, each game became more QQ from team mates.
That's why I really want a true 1v1 mode in Dota. It's a great game but I feel would offer more variety (and less QQ from teammates) if there was a true 1v1 (each player controls 5 heroes, separate gold pools, no item pooling one hero, farm individually for each hero) mode.
It'd be not that much different than playing normal RTS where you control multiple units (WC3 with 3 heroes for example).
Finally before anyone says Dota is a team based game where leading and interacting with your team is also an important skill - That is true but again it requires that ultimate QQ resistance skill that I lack.
(Hipster nerd time [for some *"credibility" in experience] - I've been playing Dota back in the days when everyone was complaining about how Sentinel was OP because they had Riki [with death ward], Gondar, etc [since there was no all pick at the time]. Also upgraders and no denying!) I actually miss the days when CM (remember, sentinel was "IMBA") carried the whole team countless time and was actually really frightening to go against (nowadays not so much).
*Yes I know when I started playing doesn't matter in terms of skill but just wanted to bust out my hipsterness if that helps people agree with what I say for some reason.
i give you the gift of mute. In game, you shall be able to mute whatever the hell they say and therefore, you will be able to resist the QQ

Not surprising that people would want to leave when your ally does dumb shit. Was playing SF mid one game. Our axe gave up first blood on suicide lane, then went mid to cut off the creeps in between the towers, and denied me like 2 waves of exp. Ended up playing a 40 minute dragged out game with idiots where we obviously lost. In hindsight I probably should've just left and took the abandon when axe went mid.

Stumpy the courier was given out to the mirana, who had apparently given up on the game and wasn't even trying to win anymore. Fantastic distribution of items...
