I ended up leaving the steam group last night after some of the worst games I've played in months. No offense to anyone, but I have no interest in playing with people who don't listen, who are generally just MUCH worse than myself, who decide to draft even though they have nfi idea what they're doing, who decide to play heroes they've never played before and have nfi how you're supposed to play, etc. etc. I suppose I did kind of see this coming though, On September 05 2012 05:23 Canas wrote: I'd join if I wasn't so sure this is going to end up being TLIH all over again where the games were basically worse than pubs thats sad....but you know you can always help em draft and stuff. and normally they are listening. but like i said we had this chen who didnt listen, too....and no offence canas, but it seems you think a bit too highly of yourself, since it didnt look like that you were much better than the others -.- and knowing that this group is open for everybody, and then leaving complaining about skill is just simply stupid reminds me a bit of warbler behaviour @Canas its supposed to be a relaxed IH
I know, but it isn't relaxed when the 4 and 5 start bitching at eachother regarding who should ward and when the games are so one sided they're basically over at the end of the draft + everyone REFUSES to listen.
Matchmaking is 100 times more relaxing for me.

Honestly, if I we're running a rhasta/CK/leshrac tri vs a solo puck and have a creep wave where there are 3 ranged creeps, I say "push" and ping puck several times, I'd expect leshrac to, you know, push. Instead of running back and pulling creeps. This happened twice. I would expect rubick to not tp top to "defend the tower" when we have rax in that lane when the rest of us are going for a push at bot with the aegis we just got. I would expect shadow shaman to not bitch about us not having any wards when he's playing the 5 position and has 450 gold. I would expect people to realize that when I say "we have to end this game quickly, get items accordingly, like mek, drum, pipe, etc.", someone would bother getting a mek before 40 minutes. I would expect people to not stun like 4 times within 1 second of me getting a 4 second chaos bolt. I would expect people to And that's just one game. I would expect people who pick pink/blue to not be absolutely godawful at drafting/playing, ie, not drafting silencer as our hard carry (especially when I'm giving suggestions for good picks the entire time), then proceeding to play it himself, followed by maxing curse first until I see that and tell him his skillbuild is pants on head retarded and what he should be doing. This silencer also began to roam around the map at like level 5 looking for kills while bitching at venomancer for taking cs, and that's why he had no farm. I would expect people to realize that if I ping mid when I'm getting ganked by furion, I probably need help and they should tp. No one even had a tp. I would expect people to ask what lane they're going to before picking a hero and picking accordingly instead of being like "LOL I CAN'T SOLO ON SK WTF?????" And I'm not expecting flawless play here, I'm simply expecting people to pick heroes they've actually played before. Think before picking a hero. Listen to someone who's clearly better than you and has more experience instead of doing whatever you think is best. Honestly, just listening is all I ask of people, instead of just trying to play your own game. Either way, done with these inhouses as there's no point in me playing normal matchmaking tier games with people who don't listen when I could just play very high tier games by clicking find match. so what?? i my teams last night we had to explain many things too , and wow we managed to get something going, you didnt mb you should look at your tone and try other stuff than saying "your item/skill build is retarded"...and tell your captain WHY his picks are bad instead of raging about it afterwards...it was sad since after that silencer game WE had to tell him why his draft was bad.that could have been you teaching him, but you are clearly not capable of doing so.this is an enviroment where the better help the worse.... just complaining and raging makes you just a douche bag....like i said knowing that this is open for everybody and then crying about skill is, and now i use this word, RETARDED....and now go to your very high MMR and never come back...btw search on steam for "thewarbler" or something, i bet you both would have fun playing together
and yeah. maestro is one of those guys to, not very friendly not patient at all while being bad himself

Did you even read my post? I gave him suggestions as to what he was supposed to pick, BUT NOPE, IT'S SILENCER TIME BABY. I can't really explain why the pick was so bad during the game, can I? I'm kind of busy with, you know, playing the game.
And I never actually said that the pick was "retarded" in game, I said something along the lines of "are you serious? you go silencer even when I give you plenty of suggestions for what to pick?".
I really have NOTHING against playing with people who are worse than me/bad at the game, as long as they listen and don't try to do something they randomly came up with on the fly, but that simply wasn't the case.

When do you guys usually come on to play? Might try this out. I am not complete shit, I don't think, after having played this for some 500-600 hours and a lot more than that in HoN. Still pretty terrible though compared to them prffessionals : )

I found it funny how seriously people were taking those games. The guy wanted to try silencer, it didn't work, move on!
The way I see it, this has just started and the people that rage out at everything will leave, and this group will eventually reach it's intended purpose of being a chilled out community for people to mess around and learn how to play basic CM. I'm happy with that.

Yeah I don't enjoy spending 2 hours on getting absolutely stomped in poor quality games because people simply won't listen to what I tell them. I don't care about winning/losing as long as the games are somewhat even, which they weren't. I'm sure a lot of people share my view on this.
This is really simple stuff, if you don't know how drafting works, don't take the blue/pink slot and watch someone else draft until you feel comfortable with doing it yourself. The only reason I acted like I did was because people started arguing with me when I simply told them what to do, how in the fuck am I supposed to teach someone if they tell me to "shut the fuck up" when I point something out?

If you want even games, do matchmaking. That's its purpose.
If you want games with a couple friends where you can mess about and share your knowledge, join the TLIH. There's a reason it's an 'open' inhouse group with no skill requirements.
If people choose not to listen to you, that's their problem and you should leave them be. Eventually they'll stop playing with us for the same reason that you left us. Take the high road and don't sink to their level. For every player that stubbornly chooses to argue with you, there's another player that listens to you carefully and tries to learn from you.
edit: I do agree however with your comments on drafting. If you don't have a clue what you are doing for drafting, you should stay away from it because you can potentially negatively influence a game from the start if you get heavily outdrafted. Please only take the blue/pink slot if you know what you're doing. Always feel free to ask questions though!

Canas may not have attracted too much sympathy by opening his post with "im better than everyone", but it seems like he faced some pretty awful behavior himself. Only played two IH games so far (as Praetor Zin on steam) and even though we got stomped (mostly cuz of me) our entire team was co-operative, helpful, and listened to advice when mistakes were pointed out or tips given, and didnt flame me when I made huge mistakes. hopefully next ones will be just as good with a similarly friendly atmosphere, enjoyed it far far more than just laddering

Pathetic how much you try to provoke me with these kinds of posts. No, we hardly mixed the teams at all. We swapped 1 player on each team and 4 new people joined.
First game wasn't as bad, but we lost because you had an AM and people just wouldn't push when I told them to. Second game we lost during the drafting phase. Also I just went to check, out of everyone I played with last night, 1 guy had a >50% winrate, and he had like 60 games played in total, which was not the case for the people I played against.
Either way, I don't care. I tried telling people what they were doing wrong, what they should be doing, etc. I got told to shut the fuck up and I got argued with. Not worth my time.

It used to be moderated reasonably well, meaning that the worst offenders were kicked. I dont think iv ever played a TL inhouse without seeing people rage though (usually at me for sucking balls as some hard support)
