All for it, the old timers know each other well enough to enjoy competing against each other and I can't ever complain about a more competitive environment, even if it will expose how bad I am. I don't enjoy competing against Chopper 'RNGOD' the Rocketbear tho ![]() and Firebolt's Ogre when I'm playing whatever

I think that it's not rated encourages more interesting drafts, which is for me the main point of playing tlih. For example in the game today, we played offensive trilane, and i (carry) gave up firstblood, and my 2 fellow supports died shortly afterwards. If this game was rated there might come flame or so, now it was just a response from me "das comunication" and some agreement to that. Top lane lost too, but people was chill, and we won in the end. In a rated game this would have ended up in a flamewar 100%. In this regard I belive that a rating would be working counterproductive in terms of gamequality. The idea is that we moderate it well to prevent such attitudes, unlike IXDL which almost encourages it.

I personally just want even games because they are a lot more fun than complete stomps due to skill level differences.

Main disadvantage is do people rate themselves the same way others do? But eh, if you rate yourself too high, you'll be placed in teams with newer people, so it may be worth rating yourself humbly. Hmm......

Fun isn't getting stomped because the system placed the vets on one side and people like me on the other. Edit: Having the rating system is one of the biggest draws of being able to use ixdl. Who cares if I'm down at 800 or something. I don't care about the rating, I care about having even teams so we can have awesome games.

You won't gain/lose rating so there's nothing to be scared of, but it helps when the client balances teams. Main disadvantage is do people rate themselves the same way others do? This is probably a decent solution because even if it isn't as accurate as an actual rating it will make teams more balanced than it being completely random.
