Starcraft 2 for Android (or iOs device)
This guide will be hillarious. IT is very easy to get StarCraft 2 running via a remote connection on your Android or iOs device.
Step 1: Install Splashtop onto your mobile device. It is a free app found in the googleplay store or on itunes.
Step 2: Install Splashtop onto your PC with starcraft2 on it. http://www.splashtop.com/streamer/downloadstart?platform=Windows
Step 3: Create an account (run either the mobile app or the desktop app to get a link on how to do that) and then log into your account on both the mobile device and on your PC.
Step 4: Thats it. Just connect the mobile device to your PC (should see it in the list of connectable devices). If the screen appears small (it did on my s3 at first) just exit out on the mobile device and select the option button on the far left in the menu where you choose which device to connect to. I suggest 1280x720 for a galaxy s3.
Step 5: Watch replays or play games or chat on SC2 via your mobile device. It will be crystal clear and beautiful.
If you want to stream from anything besides a single local network (i.e. stream from your house to a distant location) you do need to pay either 99 cents for one month or 9.99 for one year.

Starcraft 2 for Android
Ok so the guide title might be misleading, lets make it clear. This is a guide on how to stream your computers desktop to your android device so that you may in fact have the the game being controlled, viewed, and heard from your android device.
What can this guide do for you?
- Watch replays on your Android device
- Chat with people from your SCII account
- Play horribly slow and in a dissoragnized fashion on the SCII ladder...
The point is, this guide isn't for those trying to PLAY sc2 via android. It might be possible to attempt it with the combination of a BT keyboard and BT mouse and I might make a joke guide on how to do that in the very near future but for real application it just is not practical at all to play a complex mouse and keyboard RTS via a mobile device.
What do I need?
- Top end Android phone or tablet. I am going to recommend a dual core (1.5 ghz or faster recommended) and 2 gigs of ram. The Samsung Galaxy S3 (phone), Samsung Galaxy Note II (phone), and Samsung Note 10.1 (tablet) are the only devices that I currently am aware of that meet my recommend requirements. I am sure it will work on devices with only 1 gig of ram but I anticipate many more problems on such devices.
- Top end desktop computer. I have an i7920 running at 3.5ghz with 18 gigs of ram. I have yet to test on lesser PCs. I have done this only using Windows 7 and Android 4.0 thus far.
- I will add upload (for the PC) and download (for the Android device) speeds at a later time. I have so far tested this on my home wifi and thus the speeds might not be relevant.
- Teamviewer for Android (free app on Google play store)
- Teamviewer for PC (free at http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx)
Step 1: Install Teamviewer on both your PC and Android device.
-This should not be difficult. I will not go into details for now unless it seems everyone and their legal guardian is having issues with this step.
Step 2: Set StarCraft 2 settings for optimum conditions.
- Open SC2 on your PC.
- Set the game to run in Windowed Fullscreen mode.
- Set the game to low textures.
- Set the game to low graphics.
- Set Reduce Mouse Lag to off.
- You can exit SC2 at this point.
Step 3: Connect your phone to your computer using Teamviewer.
- Open teamviewer on your PC and note "Your ID" and "Password". Make sure to leave teamviewer on at this point. Do not turn it off. This is crucial.
- Open teamviewer on your Android device.
- Input the ID and Password that you got from your PC
Step 4: Set Resolution and Speed settings.
- Press the menu button on your Android device.
- Set the resolution to 1280x720. (this might vary from phone to phone, I did this with a Galaxy S3)
- Set the Quality to "Optimize Speed". (if the colors in game bother you when you try this guide, ignore this step)
- Press the back button on your Android device.
- Use a pinch gesture to zoom out as much as possible.
- I recommend at this point getting used to dragging your figer around to move the mouse cursor. Note that the cursor does not center under your finger. Single taps of the screen will equate to a click and double taps to double clicks. It is much like using a touch pad on an older laptop.
Step 5: Start StarCraft 2
- On your Android device, goto to the icon, shortcut, or start menu entry that you normal use to launch sc2 and click on it with a single click (accomplished via a single tap)
- Log in to SC2. To use the keyboard you simply tap the keyboard icon on the bottom of the Android device [picture link]. Press the back key to hide the keyboard when it is not needed.
Note that I never got the screen to 100% be perfect but I was able to make it so it was VERY watchable in a replay especially when following a players screen.
Screenshot taken on phone (note the screen shot is blury but when I was watching on the phone it was beautiful. I will take a video tomorrow to show the quality. This screen shot is more to just show you the view size you get. Imagine this as extremely, EXTREMELY clear, and you get the idea. For instance, the text in the top right is crystal clear and I can see every pixel of every unit as I would on my PC.

Note, this is a very easy thing to accomplish. It took me all of 5 minutes to do my first time. I just have not seen ANYONE talking about the fact that you can do this.
Have fun guys.
