hi fellow TL'ers,
i have some problems with my mouse and since i couldnt find help anywhere else i thought i'd give it a shot and try it here. i bought a new mouse a couple fo months ago. my former razer naga was a big disappointment to me, so ich chose a roccat kone+ this time. a couple of weeks later i also got the alumic mousepad since the noname mousepad i had before was just too old and used. so after i got the alumic i did the whole adjustment thing (calibration of tracking control unit and stuff). at first it felt quite good and i liked it. but then at some point in the game the mouse lagged for half a second. i didnt take that too serious, but after a while it happened again, and again and again. i then tried to use the alternate surface, which did not change anything. again the mouse was like stuck for a splitsecond once in a while. at some point i just used the table as surface for my mouse which helped. if i just used the surface from my table the mouse wouldnt lag a bit. everything was just fine. i tried to uninstall and reinstall the software, but that didnt help anything. has anyone of you an idea why the mouse wouldnt work with the appropriate mousepad? or can anybody tell me how i could fix this? i mean its obiously not a problem with the mouse, otherwise it would be laggy on other surfaces, too. but i heard nothing but good about the roccat alumic mousepad. everybody i talked to said its quite expensive, but its worth every cent. i dont really feel like using my table as a surface after purchasing a 40 € mousepad. i would appreciate it, if anyone could give me a tip about what to do in this situation.

what color is the mousepad?

I've read some reviews of people having the same issue you described. Have you tried updating the driver off their website?

not sure if magnum is trolling or not; if not: the mousepad has a black side and a metallic blue and black one... why is the color any important?
yes i've downloaded the drivers again and reinstalled them... i think like three times...

What do you have the polling rate set to?

Mice that callibrate themselves do so to the color of the mousepad to make the control much more smoother. Using a mousepad of a different color will ruin the callibration and it will have to be done over again, usually by unplugging and replugging the mouse while it is on the mousepad.

i tried every polling rate from 250 to 1000.. now its set so 250 or 500 i think (i am at my girlfriends place right now and cant check). @edenplusducky; you can calibrate the kone+ manually. i did that, too. many times and on both surfaces, but that didnt help either... i really dont get why this does happen with a mouse and the corresponding mousepad...
thanks so far; more ideas? greetz

have you tried running the mouse without the drivers?
|
no i havent.. u mean just uninstall the drivers and try to roll with it? but in that case i cant pre-set different dpi settings and stuff, or doesnt this reset my settings?

so i just emailed the roccat support. they told me to deactivate the TCU and try again. if the problem would still remain i should barter it at the store where i bought it. i just deactivated the TCU and the problem is still the same. but how the fuck should this be a hardwareproblem? if it was, it would be laggy on any surface, or not?! im kinda running out of ideas. probably ill just go an barter it later, even though i dont think this will help... :/

It"s not hardware all you do is turn TUC on and instead of keeping the mouse still move it form color to black worked form me for now
